...and one day your niceness wears off and you turn into a great Big Meanie?

I don't think that's true always. I think in most cases, there's a kind of karma, and if you do nice things, the universe will bounce them back at you, and nice things will happen to you.

I think the Big Meanies get it in the end, and all along the way, because no one trusts them, and no one is really nice to them unless they are manipulators.

(-: I hope that's true, anyway. Nice people are often happy with "less" (at least fewer material things) and it looks like they are in last place, but actually, they are in a very comfortable and happy place all their own. No racing required.

Depends what competition you're talking about.

If you talking about being last in making lots of money, marrying the hottest looking or richest person, getting the best job, etc? Yes, sadly, in most cases (not all), nice people finish last.

If these are your goals and that's what you truly want (wealth, hot desirable husband/wife, popularity, etc), you will learn and then turn into to a calculating "meanie", who will fool the right people into thinking you're nice and all that.

Sad, but mostly true...nice people usually always get taken advantage of in more ways than you think, emotionally, physically, etc etc. I know this from experience as well.

I've never heard that before. And besides, I see being nice more as a behavior or character trait than a choice. God bless.

No, you turn into the crazy cat lady, or become very bitter and jaded. I'm the bitter and jaded one. I don't like cats.
