Holiday Inn 59th street. Two blocks down from Central Park, Columbus Square, and about four from Times Square. Quiet enough, but close enough to everything.

I have stayed at the DoubleTree in Times Square twice in the past year. If you want to be in the middle of the action, it's a great place..It's convenient to the subway as well as within walking distance to so many things if you are sightseeing...The staff is very accomodating, the rooms are clean and roomy. We had breakfast included in our room cost which made it a convenient way to start the day...hope this helps....

Try Sheraton NY, Sheraton Manhattan, and Park Central.
They all have great location and better deals from other Time Square hotels.

The Waldorf Astoria and the St. Regis are within walking distance of Times Square. Right in TS, the Marriot and the Sheraton.

There is a Marriott right in Times Square. It's fairly new and looks very nice.
