Kevin, Just the question you ask makes me feel you are a teenager so I am going to answer assuming I am correct. These are some of the hardest years of your life. Mixed messages coming from every direction, making the transition from boyhood to manhood, girls alone trying to figure them out will drive you nuts. One of the world’s biggest and most told lies is this and I know you've heard it yourself. "Don't be in a hurry to grow up; these are the best years of your life!" BULLSH*T These are the worst years of your life BUT it will get better. These are training years, years your parents delegate your every move. Years you have no control over your own life what so ever and it is important for you and everyone to go through these years because what is fed to you mentally and what you allow yourself to consume will set the course for the rest of your life and how successful you are or are not depends on how gracefully you accept these facts of life. Life itself is structured so you will work hard though these years willingly and voluntarily or life will demand you work hard the balance of your life beyond school as a matter of pure survival. If you chose to do the hard work now throughout your school years then as a reward you will skate through the balance of your life enjoying the finer things life has to offer. However if you screw off now nature will take its course, you will find what you conceive as love have a child in a relationship that will likely fail to financial stress and you will find yourself working and living from paycheck to paycheck. Every time you think you're about to get ahead of things life will deal you another blow, the car broke down and you lost a job or you child broke his leg and you don't have medical insurance and it will seem like as soon as you are breaking through the surface of water there’s God stepping on your head shoving you back under. Focus focus focus on your life and future though this time period and wait for the right time to jump out into life and the real world. Do not dwell on what is wrong with your life, dwell on what you can do to make it better...long term better. Remember this simple thing, if you are sitting in the grass and spill your glass of milk you can not scoop it up so forget it and focus instead on where you're going to get another glass of milk. You handle each situation you face with this same mental approach and suddenly the world will become much less complicated I promise.

Just keep going. There will always be tough times. But, they pass.
If you feel like giving up remember that if you are will to give up then take some chances in life with something new.
Try a new career, etc. If you are young and don't have many obligations. Than you could try all sorts of new things. Try helping others for awhile. And, maybe there will be more purpose in your life.

Depends what is it worth giving up on. Giving up on living is too easy. You just go back to the drawing board and start again. Opportunity is like a bus stop, there's another one every 15 minutes. Just hang in there.

I pray. I usually fall asleep while I'm praying and I feel better the next morning--maybe not all the way, but not at the end of my rope.
Hang in there. Things will not always be the same. Everything will cycle around and you'll be okay.

Pray. If you do believe in God but it's been a while just tell him that you're lost, don't know what to do, and really want to be able to trust him to take over and fix things. If you're heart is in it he'll help ya out.

I come on to Yahoo Answers and see just from the stupid "Am I Pregnant?" questions out there that there are people apparently worse off and even more brainless than I am.

Don't give up! You are valuable. If you feel like you may harm yourself, go to an emergency room immediately!
