Her ears will probably end up being erect. The triangle when they are up is just part of the process of them coming up. Your pup is fine, besides even if they stay this way it is cute and as long as your not showing her it really doesnt matter.

Unless you're planning to show in conformation, don't worry about the shape of your Border Collie's ears ... whether they're upright, triangular, or bend forward, there's a LOT of leeway ... to be considered perfect, a collie's ears must have that "break" that allows them to fold forward... but with the Border Collie, well that breed is judged more on utilitarianism than beauty.

Please don't take that the wrong way ... I HAVE a Border-Collie-Mix dog ... and she is fabulous.

Just love her as she is, I'd hope ... and realize that no one else has exactly the mix of dog that you have... or, at least, not one that looks EXACTLY like her! (psssst ..... she does NOT care what her ears look like!) Good luck and enjoy the dog you have!

Purebred Border Collies usually have half folded ears, although I had one whose ears went totally upright, and one dog whose left ear was up and right ear was half up.The dog might be one of those rare ones or a mixed breed even, especially since she's from the pound, there's no way to know her parentage.

Lots of border collies have upright ears.Border collies really vary in body type, coat type, weight and ear set, unless they are from show lines, then they have to conform to the standard for the breed, which does not have upright ears. if your dog is a pet and not a show dog, then there's nothing to worry about.

I have a book of dog breeds that says border collies can have erect or half-erect ears. It sounds like your puppy is fine...

It's all just a part of evolution. Your dog is fine. I am sure her ears are very beneficial to her the way they are.
