By the sounds of it you have chronic constipation. You can try to increase the fiber and water in your diet. If this doesn't work you may need some type of stool softener or laxative. I recommend MiraLax. It is now available over the counter and works wonder for my patients.

This is not normal and it is not good for you. In order to get your system back on track I suggest you start by talking to your doctor. You may need to change your diet. Are you eating regularly? Are you eating a healthy well-balanced diet? Are you getting enough fruits and vegetables and whole grains? Is your fiber consumption adequate?

Are your stools very dark (almost black), and tarry? This is a sign of internal bleeding caused by stomach ulcers (erosion's). Do you ache all over, especially your lower back? If you sleep unusually long periods, that is a concern. I would run, not walk to your doctor.

You had better see a doctor. It could be serious. Sounds like a bowel obstruction which can be dealt to. Leave it though and its sure to develop into a serious problem such as septisemia

You need more fiber and more liquids in your diet because you should be going more than that. try it and you should see a difference. They have the fiber in put in your drinks and they have pills,too. but you have to be drinking with them. soda does not count as liquid intake just to let you know.
