I made a Blueberry muffin mix as a cake, and so I wanted to put some homemade sauce on it to make it more like a cake...Any ideas?

SIMPLE GLAZE:

1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 to 2 tsp. hot water

For glaze - Mix all ingredients until drizzling consistency

2. BLUEBERRY SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE

COFFEE CAKE:

1 pkg. blueberry muffin mix
1/3 c. dairy sour cream
1/4 c. milk
1 egg
1/4 c. blueberry preserves

GLAZE:

1/2 c. confectioners sugar
2 1/2 tsp. water

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease an 8 or 9 inch round cake or pie pan. Rinse blueberries with cold water. For coffee cake: Combine dry muffin mix, sour cream, milk and egg in bowl. Stir until moistened. Spread half of batter into pan. Spread half of blueberry mixture on top of batter. Spread remaining batter over blueberry layer. Spread remaining fruit on top, avoiding edges. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden.
For glaze, combine confectioners sugar and water in small bowl; stir until smooth. Drizzle over hot coffee cake.

I use a simple glaze on my cakes then decorate with glace cherries and walnuts. Just heat a few tablespoons of apricot jam in the microwave and drizzle over the cake.

I would also suggest Lemon. For a real easy, and fast way... buy lemon frosting...i think it is Betty crocker... heat it up in the microwave until it is this and runny... pour it over the cake and it will harden like a glaze would.

Yes. Whip one 8 ounce block of Philadelphia cream cheese with a half cup of confectioner's sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and enough milk to make it whatever consistency you like.

If you can't find Philadelphia brand, add 1 teaspoon lemon extract to get some of the same piquancy.

If you poke holes in the cake with a tooth pick and fill the holes with milk the cake will get very most. if you do this you will not need to glaze it
