someone once told me that it was "levi love" going through the motions with your clothes on. It's still bad beacuse you are provoking thoughts and actions that will and are bringing you very close to crossing that line. (of course this is all out of the bond of marriage- after that you can "pet" all you want)

Not using our sexual energy for intelligence, health, study, spirituality and important concerns, but into a physical act due to the emotional energy controlling us instead of us controlling it. That is basically being led by the body instead of leading the body. Our life controlling us rather than us controlling our life and lives. I'm sure you've had that problem so you know what I mean. Having husbands even more out of control is even more of a problem. If you study emotional intelligence you will be able to teach all your children how to be mature independent individuals. I'm sure it would help you too, as most people have the problem of being led by their emotions. The odd thing is that it's reported the scientists are saying that emotionally we are only two or three years old. It would seem wise to study emotional intelligence then.

Basically anything that turns you on is wrong. Petting could be as simple as holding hands, if it brings impure thoughts. Definetly getting naked in the back seat qualifies. Generally petting is considered any sexual activity short of intercourse.

I would say petting is any inappropriate or sexual type touching between individuals who are not married...I guess petting could also be between married people but it is only "bad" when they are not married.

Colossians 2:8. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Mormon parents tend to avoid certain topics, like puberty, petting, and masturbating. Even though it is important to teach your children about them, it's just silently ignored.
