Okay....I must be stupid or something........I know that pregnancy is realtively 9 months long, so does that mean you actually give birth on the 10th month...or do you give birth on the 9th month?

Its actually 40weeks which is about 91/2mths but you can have a baby up to 42wks over due which is 10mths!
You would give birth in the 10mth really. Its a little confusing but just stick with 40wks and its much easier to understand!!!

I had no idea about this 40wk thing when I fell pregnant the first time (she wasn't planned) and when I went to the doctor I had no idea what he was talking about so I went and bought a baby book to explain it to me!!!

Technically pregnancy is about 40 weeks long so if you gave birth at the end of the 40th week it would be the beginning of the 10th month. It is confusing.

Like others have said, it's 40 weeks. That averages out to approx 9 months that are 30 days long each. The real calendar doesn't always work that way, so it seems that pregnancy is 10 months.

The average pregnancy is between 38 and 42 weeks, which translates to between 9 and a half and 10 and a half months, if you count one month as four weeks. It is kind of confusing.

you give birth when your body and baby are ready. It's 40 weeks long. I get confused about the lunar and calendar months. Good luck.
