From what I read in the Bible, this world is a 'vale of tears', punishment for Adam & Eve's sin. The ultimate goal of life is to go to heaven in the afterlife and nothing else matters.

So, shouldn't Christians rejoice at the thought of death? If suicide wasn't a sin, wouldn't you believers WANT to joyously fling yourselves from the nearest tall building, knowing you're just a heartbeat away from an eternal Cosmic Disneyland that is infinitely better than your earthly existence? Aren't martyrdom and terminal illnesses good because they reunite you with Jesus? Isn't abortion a good thing because fetuses get an automatic trip to heaven?

Most Christians I know cling just as stubbornly to life as any atheist. The only half-decent excuse I've heard is that they'd miss their family and friends. But what if you're over the age of 50 or so and most of your family and friends are presumably in heaven waiting to see you?

Christians understand that after death we will be with Jesus, but most of us want to stay here to do the works that He wants us to do, such as trying to teach others about Him.

Christianity is not a "death cult", where we can't wait to die, nor is martyrdom sought as in Muslim religions. If we are faced with martyrdom, we are not to deny Jesus to escape death, but we are not to actively seek martyrdom.

God determines when and how we die, and we don't want to appear before Him and not have finished the works He has set for us to do here on Earth.

Paul answered this question best, and I quote:

Philippians 1:21-26 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again.

Paul (the Apostle who wrote 2/3 rds of the New Testament, had this Problem.

Paul Said, to stay HERE on the EARTH is MORE HELPFULL TO YA'LL!!!

(my own Southern Interpretation!!!)

Later, Paul let them kill him.
I said "LET".
If you know how to Work Your Angels then "No Man can Take your Life".

And if GOD Sends a Special Angel to Protect you, then FORGET IT!!!
No can do!!! (and if that happens, I'd be Scared too! GOD sent Angels don't Miss!)

The Bible also tells us that creation is good... that life is good. To take our own lives, or even to rejoice in our own deaths, would be to insult the world that God created. This would be a sin.

There is nothing wrong with loving life-- God loves it too, or He never would have bothered to make us!

Yes. And I do look forward to death.

Why didn't I kill myself already? Because God decides when I die. A part of being a Christian is accepting God's timing and putting away ourselves as the center of the freaking universe. God's will is: I stay here at least for now.

Yes, as a Christian, I look forward to death. I'll admit that sometimes I get too caught up in the here and now, but usually I'm longing for the future with God and being sin-free.

the ultimate goal in life is praise God, encounter Gods wonders and change lives by gospel.

question back to you: I will give you a candy if you watch a movie with me, k? now, you know you will watch the movie so why wont I give you the candy right now and get it over with?

you must earn your way to heaven! just because you have a label "Christian" it doesnt mean your final destination is heaven!

Phil:1:21: For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

i even this second, am more then willing to die and go to Heaven, i miss it so much. But to kill myself is sinful. To have an abortion is sinful. To do anything contrary to Scriptures is sinful.
i am more then willing to leave this earth right now, for the wickedness that i see before my eyes, sickens me, and i am vexed day by day, even as Lot was. To live is unto Jesus Christ, to die, is most certainly gain.
i have informed all of my family, that if i was ever sick and in the hospital, that they would not pray that i get better, but that they would pray that i go quickly. If they Truly loved me, they would not desire me to stay in this filth, that is before my eyes today. Christ come and take me this night, would not hurt my feelings one bit.

Yes heaven is a wonderful place but it must be waited for naturally. Why miss out on life?

A "real Christian" will want to live, but not for himself. He will want to live to see the purposes of God go forth in the world, to see people healed, to experience the love of God, and to obey His commandments.

BTW, I have provided you with an example of a "secularist" who blocked someone just because he or she didn't blindly worship his lame verbal quipping
