Do you mean where her dewclaw was removed? I had a mixed breed pup who had double dew claws on her back feet.Because they are prone to getting caught on things,we had them removed at three days of age, but, the other puppies sucked on her foot, and she developed scar tissue where the dewclaws were. The vet had to remove the scar tissue because it was infected, and my pup had to take antibiotics for a week.It could also be a cyst,an abcess or an insect bite.I would have the puppy checked by a vet.

If the puppy's dewclaws were removed (should not have been done to a mixed breed), it could be an infection at the surgical site. Usually, seeing a veterinarian is the best way to get this taken care of. An 8 to 9 week old puppy should be seen for it's first set of vaccines around that age anyway, if you are planning to vaccinate.

could be an infected dewclaw or incompletely removed dewclaw. best to have a vet look see at it and see if it needs to be redone or if the dog will have to live with it....
Is she limping? licking it ?

Check out this article on dewclaws, it is enlightening to those hardcore chop them off people. The show standard for rotts does not mandate a removed dewclaw...

please read why dogs should KEEP their dews, as long as the owners are trimming the nails, it is not a problem...I have dogs with and without thumbs, and the ones who have them, use them.

Just like my cat, who is not a amputee, with the claws/nails, he gets them trimmed, not removed...

She could have some type of allergy or infection. Or she could've gotten the dew claw (thumb) caught & it pulled the nail until it became inflamed. The best thing is to have the vet check it out to figure out what it is. And, get both dew claws removed. They are of no use & are one of the big reasons for emergency vet care because the nail gets caught & tears the thumb off.

the dog needs to see a vet. Its probably some kind of infection. The vet can properly diagnose what is wrong and prescribe a treatment accordingly.
