Anywhere in Northern New Jersey, my child is Autistic.

You would do better to look for an autism society chapter in your area. They will be able to direct you to some really good help. Best wishes! My younger brother is on the autism spectrum. Things are much better for these children now. He is 22 and it was rough. Get in contact with them soon. The sooner he has intervention the better he will progress with it.

Most districts only have a Pre-K 4 class.

You should ask his pediatrician or psychologist, if he has one, or call the local school district.

Keep in mind, public school follows the old adage that you get what you pay for. There are very few "great" or "excellent" public schools of any age, when comparing them to private schools.

I would really suggest contacting the local school's special education department. They should be able to direct you to the people you need to get in touch with to get him tested and in a public school PreK3.

In my school district the earliest they have is like a head start program for 4 yr olds. My son goes to private school and they have a 3 yr old preschool program there...its not public though.

no pre 3 in public school the youngest is pre 4 and they have to qualify and take a test
