I left my phone at a Gamestop earlier today and did not notice it was gone until I got a call from my phone. The guy said that he found the phone in the store and looked through the numbers for a home number. I told him I would stop by as soon as they open tomorrow to get my phone. I would like to give this guy a reward but I am extremely broke right now. Is something better than nothing? He is an employee there BTW.

What a great guy. most people would have taken off with the phone or not bothered trying to find the owner. maybe get him a thank you card and stop by the store to tell the higher ups that he went above and beyond his work duties to make sure you got your phone back. that's very thoughtful of you to think about him

If he is an employee, write a letter to the manager. Some of these stores have an employee of the month or some type of recognition for good employees. Your letter may get that guy the assistant manager position that he is competing for.

Yes, you should give him a reward. He found your phone. He didn't keep it. He even went to the trouble of finding a way to contact you.

He deserves a reward. If you don't have an extra cash, the cookie or brownie thing isn't a bad idea. I'd find $5 though somehow.

Thank him honestly and from the heart. Maybe explain that you're broke. Above all, go to his supervisor (with a letter stating your thankfulness in regards to the specific employee) and tell them what a stellar employee they have.

I don't think you need to give him a reward. Just tell him that you are so thankful that he found it and that he was honest enough to not steal it. That should be enough.

If you are broke, and I can sympathize, how about making a cake, or a batch of cookies, or something else personal as a thank you gift.

Granted, cash is greatly appreciated, but appreciation is also a reward.

No you should'nt really, just say "THANK YOU" and thats about it, because thats also their job to return or hold (LOST & FOUND ITEMS).
