I'm 13 years old and I was just wondering like...I mean like on one of my breasts I have a big lump that I can feel if I push down a bit and it's not on the other one...what should I do? I mean, it scares me. I don't have a family history of breast cancer though. I mean is it just something that's there because my breasts are still growing or what? And I'm almost scared to talk to my mom about it cuz I don't want to freak her out cuz A. we don't really have the money right now I don't think to be able to do anything if it WAS cancer and B. her mom died of breast cancer (but they weren't blood related cuz my mom was adopted).

I mean I'm just really scared and I don't exactly know what my own question even is right now but can somebody tell me what it might be?

If you are age 13 then it is highly likely that any lump you feel is either due to hormonal changes or cysts in normal growing breasts. Lumps are common in the breasts of young girls. They are almost always cysts or fibroadenomas or hormone related. It would be exceptionally rare for a 13 year old to have breast cancer but it is possible. You need to talk to your mother about this. You should never be afraid to talk about issues like this with your mother or your school nurse.

It probably is not breast cancer but you should tell your mom and you need to see a doctor. It is worse going along and not knowing what something is and continuously worrying.

Tell your mom and go get checked out. No matter if you have no money its better to go get checked out because if it ends up to be cancer it could be stoped now but if you wait itll get worse. go NOW !!!!!!!
