If they look at you give him a cute smile.
If he is near you just brush up against him a little, he'll probably get the idea. But dont do it to the point where he gets freaked out by you. :D good luck

Well this justs makes me smile. It seems like you guys have a good foundation of a friendship. Thats were most relationships start out. It also seems like you both like each other. I say take a confidence boosts and tell him. Or you can be very subtly since hes your guy friend i guess you are entitled to ask him who he likes. anything you do to a guy will probably be interpreted as flirting, seriously. easiest way though? Always smile when you are talking to the guy you are trying to flirt with.

keep on starring him
when ever he is around and show them that u feel good when he is around and u like talking to him. Get him a gift'(something romantic)
when ever u r with him ,try to stay close to him..
ask him to play with u(basket ball) and then go near him....go really close to him like (to his chest or his lips and then don't do anything i mean come back)
look in his eyes when u start talking to him and then look at his lips in between(he should notice that)

there are so many ways to flirt with them.
first. always smile when they are talking to you.
do some cute little laughs and when you are talking to them maybe touch there arm and joke around a little bit.
you could also tease them. just have fun around them

call them and ask whats up, compliment them, ask about stuff their doing like ( how long have you been playing that sport or whatever ), try to find things in common you both have, just basicly talk to them.

well........ dont ask them out to eat somwhere cuz
say u ask them out for a burger right? what if they're vegetarian?
and dont ask them out for like ice cream cuz they could be lactose-intolerant
i would just go up to onee and go hey cutie \...dont scare them tho..also compliment them lots.
