When I was brushing my teeth tonight, I noticed two black spots on the insides of my cheeks. I wasn't sure what they were so I tried to brush them away (thinking they were food or something), but they didn't go away. They're not sore or anything and they're extremely small. The bigger one is right above my back molar. I have a filling there and it looks like it's the same color of the filling material but I really don't think it's the filling coming apart because it's not brushing away. Like I sad, they're not sore or anything. I take good care of my mouth, floss/brush twice a day so I know it's not some kind of periodontal disease. Does anybody know what this could be? I'm starting to get worried.

It doesn't look like a bruise, more like a mole type thing. The other one looks like a splinter. I just noticed this today and I doubt a mole would turn up inside my mouth like that.

Actually I'm going to say it looks more like a birthmark...it's perfectly round and dark. Very small though. Doesn't hurt at all but it does seem to have a small lump underneath it. Somebody mentioned it could be a blood blister but I don't remember biting my cheek and I have no idea what a blood blister looks like. I'm getting really scared that it's something like cancer. I dont' smoke, don't drink, etc. so I don't see why it would be that. I was just at the dentist five months ago so I'm due for an appointment next month. I'm just getting really freaked out.

Dark Spots In Mouth

You should never wait when you have a possible cancer concern. Even if the chances are tiny, never wait. If it's something serious, the sooner you begin treatment, the quicker you will get better. Make an appointment for as soon as they'll fit you in, and keep an eye on the spots, meanwhile.

The dentist has a specific sort of treatment to test for cancer. I believe it's some sort of liquid you swish in your mouth, then they look around the inside of your mouth with a special light (ultraviolet, maybe? I don't remember). It's a simple easy test to spot problems in your mouth.

Don't panic, though, because it is probably nothing at all. And on the slightest chance it is something serious, it's treatable.
Of the four people I know who have cancer, they are all doing very well, all in remission. Cancer is becoming more and more treatable by the day. So don't worry! Just go to the dentist to ease your mind.

i have the same thing it doesn't look like anything in those images, looks just like a mole, very tiny. or a blood blister, a blood blister its usually a very dark red color, can be any size usually round can even be oval shaped, some times they can almost seem flat but are usually little bumps. i read another post that said to watch it for two weeks, if it doesn't get smaller or go away then get it checked out.

Go see a doctor, or a dentist. They should be able to tell you what it is or direct you to a more qualified physician who will be able to help you.

On the other hand it could just be bruising. It often happens and quite often people don't realize that they hurt themselves enough to bruise.

If it goes away in a couple of day, odds are, it is a bruise, if it has not gone away by the end of next week. You should see a doctor soonest.
