I was in my room and I was about to walk out and all of a sudden this big snake pops out. I was scared of getting bitten so I was trying to get away from it so I jumped on my bed. The snake kept on following me and if i moved in one direction it would move the same. I made a run for the door but it kept following me. I saw my dad in the hallway and asked for his help and he said to not step on the ground. It caught up to me so I ran into the bathroom and shut the door. I put a towel underneath the door just in case but the snake slipped through and it grabbed my leg. And then I woke up.

Dream are the subconscious. The subconscious is a pool of thoughts without any ability to control them. When we are awake, we use our conscious brain and put all that we do and see into this subconscious pot. When we are awake, we have the ability to control what we pull out of this pot and use. Dreaming only happens in levels 2 to 4 of sleep. Deep sleep which is level 5 does not dream. For some reason you either did not reach level 5 sleep or you were awakened by some noice or disturbance out of level 5 sleep but not enough to completely wake up. What happens than is that your subconscious mind is awake but your conscious mind is not and therefore things are being pulled out of the pot but there is no control over what is being pulled out. This is how dreams are invented by the brain. It needs an avenue for the activity that is going on it itself and without the conscious mind awake to control that avenue, it creates its own. Thus you dream. So, whatever you have seen or heard or thought in your entire life is at the disposal of your subconscious to create whatever it wants. Since it has no control, it just pull out stuff at random and makes a movie for your brain to watch since your conscious isn't awake to regulate it. Therefore, there is no good logic to your dream and no reality about it to happen or have happened. Most likely you saw your dad in the hallway at some time in that place. You were also scared of being bitten at sometime in your life by something. You have seen a snake in a movie, at a zoo or in the wild. You have asked your dad for help, I'm sure lots of times. You have also ran into the bathroom before as well, even if you were in a hurry to get ready for school or go potty and you shut the door then too. I'm betting at some point you have stuck some type of cloth or rug at the bottom of a door, maybe to keep cold out and I know you have used a towel to dry off after a shower. If you have played any type of chase game, someone at sometime has grabbed your leg. Thus, that is the interpretation of your dream. Your subconscious took all those things out at random while you were in level 2 to 4 sleep and made a movie for your brain to watch since your conscious mind was not awake enough to control it. A lot of best sellers, plays and movies on the market are actually started by dreams.

The snake represents stress, which you are probably running away from (or ignoring) right now. Your dad's reaction probably has something to do with stress being a more personal emotion, that you normally have to solve on your own It could also be a feeling of detachment from your parents; a sort of "they don't know what it's like", angsty type feeling. I'm gonna say (type) that there's something you were supposed to do, but you keep holding it off.

A Freudian would say that you're Catholic, and because of your upbringing, sex makes you feel guilty and scared. The snake could be interpreted as sexual imagery, it could be symbolic of some male figure in your life, or it could be represent fear. I'm gonna go with fear in this case, but the possibilities are limitless when it comes to this, and I don't want to go into any more detail.

According to Dreamcrowd:

To see an snake in your dream, symbolizes a sly or cunning person. This person cannot be trusted. It may also represent something or someone who has slipped out of your hands.
To dream that someone or something is bigger than normal, indicates that you either have an inflated opinion of yourself or of someone. You may be expressing a desire to be more dominant in some situation or relationship. To see a big figure in your dream, represents authority and power.

To see your legs in your dream, indicate that you have regained confidence to stand up and take control again. It also implies progress and your ability to navigate through life. If your legs are weak, then you may be feeling emotionally vulnerable. To see someone else's legs in your dream, represents your admiration for that person. You need to adopt some of the ways that this person does things. To dream that you legs are wounded or crippled, signifies a lack of balance, autonomy, or independence in your life. You may be unable or unwilling to stand up for yourself. Perhaps you are lacking courage and refuse to make a stand. To dream that one of your leg is shorter than the other, suggests that there is some imbalance in some aspect of your life. You are placing more emphasis and weight on one thing, while ignoring other important aspects that need attention as well. To dream that you have three or more legs, denotes that you are undertaking too many projects than you can handle. Unfortunately, you will find these projects to be unfruitful and a waste of time.

These usually stem from your sub-concious trying to tell you your not facing a problem. Usually when I have dreams like that, I'm usually in conflicted feelings concerning someone of something. Everybody's different though, that's why I don't consult dream interpretation books. All symbols and colors have different meanings to each individual.
