has a puffy bottom lip. I don't know what happened to him, since he has been inside for a couple of days. I have 2 other cats(female and male) so we think he got his lipped scratched by the other 2 or 1. They are all the same age..so any ideas???

it could be a wound received while playing with the other 2 cats or he may have hit it on something. worse case he gotbit by something when he was out last and it has taken this long for his body to react.Cats are funny creatures and thier bodies can fight off a lot of stuff, so it could take this long to cause inflammation.

It could be something called rodent ulcer, their bottom lips puff up, if that's what it is it will need steroids and antibiotics, if that's what it is if left untreated it can turn into cancer. You need to see a vet regardless of what it is, but in the meantime you should remove any plastic bowls the cat eats or drinks from, as this may be a cause. I've just recently read in the October issue of Cat Fancy magazine what this was, they had pictures of cats with their bottom lips puffed up.

Does it look like 'Jay Leno chin'? Ours get that when they tear down the stairs and don't make the turn at the bottom--going face first into the book case. The bottom chin puffs up for 3 days then goes down because they bruise it.

It shouldn't interfere with eating or drinking, but don't poke at it. You can check to see if the vertical line in the nose pad is bright red, the nose might have been hit too, which would make it hard for the cat to groom comfortably for a while. But usually it's not anything you need a vet trip for unless you suspect cracked teeth or something else wrong in the area.

Is it possible the other cats, hate him? I once had two male cats. The one was pretty young, and the other was an inheritance, and one of my first ever cats, years prior. He was much older. The younger cat was jealous and swiped at him, one day. Then the older cat gradually died, from bleeding, cuts and the blood attracted ants. Take the cat to the vet or a cat (or pet) hospital, and try to isolate him from the other cats as a test. But you might want to consider getting rid of him or the others. You said all 3 are the same age. Were they raised together? If not, it's deffintely out of jealousy. If they were, it's unusual. Kittens and cats, who are of the same liter or are raised togetehr like to play around with one anohter. But from what you described, it's not from playing.
