If you want to be involved in your grandchidlren's lives you have to deal with their parents. Not many states have laws pertaining to "Grandparent's rights", so if you cut your child out of your life you will also be cutting out your grandchildren. If the adult is not capable of taking care of the children, or you believe that they are a danger to them, you could always try to get custody.

Well, if you want to be involved with the grandkids, you really can't.
You can probably go to court for grandparents rights (which I am against in most cases, but if your son/daughter is unstable, I might just do it)
