talk to his dr, is there another med available? Sometimes it takes a few tries to get a med that fits. Good luck.

Epilepsy is a serious medical condition. You are fortunate your physician has diagnosed this problem early. I have been reading about trileptal; and from what I have read, this medication has been used only as an "adjunct" in children under the age of four.
I suggest you talk with your son's physician/pediatrician, tell him the changes you have noticed in your son's behavior, and ask if there is another medication available. Perhaps the current dosage just needs to be adjusted.

My son was on trileptal, but never had that side effect, but he was much younger, 4 months old, when he went on it.
I haven't heard that's a side effect, but neither is weight gain and my son gained a ton and from the research I did a lot of kids gained weight on it. It's still one of the better meds though. good luck.

Look into herbal and organic foods and relaxation remedies for your baby. Cuddling and calm responses, respond only to positive behavior, etc.
This doesn't mean that you should stop the meds, just try to help ease the adverse reactions and behaviors. Finally, talk with your Pediatrician about your concerns.
Good Luck.
