what can I do to keep my days full? How can I not miss him? What if I don't think he's ready to attend school yet? If I keep him home for two or three months will he be too far behind to catch up?

He is going to be four in November, but he will be three when he starts next week. I am considering home schooling, and I can't volunteer at the school as it is a french school, and I cannot speak french, and english speaking is not permitted on the school property.

He has pre kindergarten one day, and little children classes the following day, so it is full days five days a week. My other children went as they pleased and I never forced them to attend pre k classes.

FYYI I am only on the computer late at night AFTER the child has drifted off to sleep- I do not depend on YOUR money what-so-ever..I have two degrees, and live off a chunky inheritance, that will provide for my lifetime and that of my children- so before some people open thier mouths and judge- remember that I'm as asking a genuine question, and needing a little reasurance regarding sending my son to school.

First of all, you are asking what to do to keep your days full with 5 children??? Even if they are in school, I would imagine there is a lot of cleaning and preparation that needs to happen. If that is done, then you also deserve some YOU time. Go to a movie, read a book, do something you enjoy!
At 3 he is starting preschool. Its good exposure for him if nothing else. Dont worry about it. If he finds it to be too much, you will find out and you can take him out for awhile. You have the luxury of being able to stay at home. Try a preschool program thats like 3 days a week for a few hrs. Maybe that will be more his speed and yours.

As an avid homeschooler, I would say keeping him home is best. Little boys usually like to play more than being "taught". You can teach him at home. I would guess you are in another country where you do not know the language, and that is what you mean he may be behind. Could you get a language-teaching software or DVD that you and he could learn together? This may help him to play catch up if you did send him later on. Or maybe you would find that you just love homeschooling (and seeing his eyes brighten when you have shared knowledge with him!) so much that you continue it.
Blessings!

I have 5 boys and my youngest will be starting 1st grade this year. I too was a little unsure of what to do with myself when my son started pre-school 3 years ago, but guess what, it was so nice to finally have several hours all to myself to do whatever I felt like doing. This might sound a little selfish, but trust me it was a relief being able to do laundry without someone saying MOMMY every minute.

My youngest of two will be out of elementary soon enough. Just take a little time for yourself and use your discretion. Make it productive. Make it lethargic. Get a gym membership. Read some books. Stare at the idiot box, or the monitor. Take up an instrument. Brush up on an old hobby. The choice is yours.

at three he's only in school for a few hrs, you will be surprised how fast the time goes!!!! Start anew hobby you have wanted to try, sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, skydiving (j/k!). Take the time to go to the gym and get in better shape. Go to the library and catch up on the best sellers you missed over the last years.

My philosophy is to keep those babies home as long as you can. It goes by sooooo fast. I think a child of that age can handle going to a preschool for 2 part days a week to learn to be social and to share, If it is just a short time in the day, you won't have time to miss him if you are raising 5 children. Have fun with them.

I specific desire this person is a troll yet whilst not. he's a few suggestion. You knew once you married him that he had a baby. And once you married him, you took on that place as step-mom, in spite of in case you do in contrast to that call. existence would not revolve around you. mother and father continuously places their baby first. you're able to desire to settle for responsiblity. First, the baby's mom merely died. So counseling could be good for the son. 2d, Borrow some parenting books and join into some parenting instructions and study some parenting skills, you opt for them and it will make it easier to. third, in case you supply your husband an ultimatum, he will chosen his son with the aid of fact his son got here first into his existence earlier you. And final, in case you punch the baby in the face with the aid of fact which you get mad. that there is a case of baby abuse and you're pronounced and probably have criminal expenses press on you via the county. Oh and via the way, in case you virtually love your husband, you desire and settle for his son merely the comparable.

you mean pre-school right? In our area pre-school is only two hours a day three days a week.
Take yourself out for coffee, or have your nails done, or go for a walk (weather permitting) while you wait to pick him back up :)

1) You could always home-school him...or the latest...unschool him...
2) Try volunteering at his school or the school of your other kids to keep yourself busy...
3) Take some classes for yourself...BUT...
if he stays home do the above to ensure he doesn't fall behind...work w/ him yourself...he'll learn more and you may find a new calling in life. :-)

Spend your days learning French. Then you will be able to volunteer. Keeping your son home will just reinforce his immaturity.
