My cat pee'd on my mattress, how do I get the smell off of it?

My cat pee'd all over my frickin mattress, a $400 dollar nice mattress and he pissed all over it... I got all the stains off of it with a steam cleaner but it still smells like crazy and I cant stand the smell... How in the world can I get that god awful smell out of my mattress?

Use Febreeze, and spray it until the smell is gone. It worked on my mattress.

Try vinegar. Hopefully it will help and it might keep the cat from peeing there again. My cat did the same thing, but luckily it was little enough urine that it didn't smell too much.
You might also go to a pet store - they have special cleaners that are supposed to help.

Well, you can try a variety of things...Nature's Maid (available at PetSmart or PetCo)...Febreeze...Lysol. However, if the mattress was "soaked" I'd suggest saving your money for a new mattress.

There are solutions that digest organic material, including urine. One of the most common ones is called "Nature's Miracle". You should be able to find it in a pet store or the pet aisle of your grocery store.

well when my pee once on my sofa cushion when she was a kitten, my mom told me to use febreeze and place the cushion out in the sun for a day and the sun will kill the scent,

Cat pee is notorious for its stink and its resistance to any cleaning.
I think you're S.O.L.
