You may pray silently by yourslf before class. You just can't make a big scene or get everyone to do it. I think that is fair and make sense to me. They claim we took God out of their schools. How did we do that? We just mad it fair for people? I live in the south so the Christians down here get pretty crazy... If we should bring prayer to the aztec Gods? The God and Goddes? Ra or Isis? Your God doesn't have anymore proof either!

I am a Christian, I have been for many a year. I thank God that there is no prayer in public school. See I live in Utah. Here the majority religion is a cult. They worship a differnt Jesus than the one Christian hold as our Lord. If there were to be prayer in the schools here too many our our young people could possibly get pulled in to a dangerous cult.. You don't want to throw up Egyptian gods or Indian gods at me as proof my God isn't there. There is no prophecy from these group that has shown a fulfillment, That is NOT the case with the God of the Bible. So until you can offer as much evidence of their reality as I can give you for the reality of The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit don't bother to compare them.. Yes I will take evidence from their writings, if you can find any.. Email me we will compare... Jim

Honestly, there have always been children who did not pray. They bowed their heads and did as everyone else did but weren't really praying. No one likes to be told what they can and cannot do period. both sides Have valid points. As a Catholic, I do not wish to have a Mormon teacher leading my child in Prayer. However, our country is CLEARLY not benefiting from the removal of Prayer and pledge to god and country from our schools. I think it is less about prayer then all students starting the day the same way, that is creating a sense of community and "togetherness."

There is a clear agenda to purposely erase religion from the face of our country. The sense of entitlement angers me. There have always been kids that don't want to do long division on the Chalkboard but we don't bring the practice to a screaching halt because artistically gifted children are intimidated by the subject matter.

Russia did the same thing, took prayer out, and 50 years later realized oops big mistake, now they include prayer, same for the Russian army to now have churches, and bibles, you see its simple, the the moral basis in a society begins with the home and the class room, you take out a strong moral base and society crumbles, look at the past, chewing gum and talking were the offenses students made, now kids kill kids, teens are getting pregnant, and drugs run rapid, please stop fooling your self, George Washington said the philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next, we forgotten God and now children suffer

People in here are blaming no prayer in school to be the reason for drug rapes girls getting pregnant? what are you stupid. You say this because you refuse to put the burden upon ourselves that the problem is the parents. everything starts with parenting. with out stuff like that happens. America is full of parents who really shouldn't be parents in the first place. School is a place to learn. even if you did get prayer in school nothings going to change. This world is different than what it use to be. religions starting to mean less to people. Even if they claim they're christian they most likely say that because they'll be afraid to be ridiculed for not believing in Christianity. Christianity is not the only religion in America that's why they do that in public schools.

This country insures freedom of religion not freedom from religion. A young persons soul is more important than someone who might be offended by God and his word. If you don't want to believe that's your choice. But don't take away others chance to know the joy of a relationship with a loving God. Because you don't want to hear the message.

Benjamin Franklin
June 28, 1787
to the congressional body

"The small progress we have made after four or five weeks close attendance & continual reasonings with each other---our different sentiments on almost every question, several of the last producing as many noes as ays, is methinks a melancholy proof of the imperfection of the Human Understanding. We indeed seem to feel our own want of political wisdom, since we have been running about in search of it. We have gone back to ancient history for models of Government, and examined the different forms of those Republics which having been formed with the seeds of their own dissolution now no longer exist. And we have viewed Modern States all round Europe, but find none of their Constitutions suitable to our circumstances.

In this situation of this Assembly, groping as it were in the dark to find political truth, and scarce able to distinguish it when presented to us, how has it happened, Sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of lights to illuminate our understandings? In the beginning of the Contest with Great Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, & they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending providence in our favor. To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance?

I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proof I see of this truth that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that "except the Lord build the House they labour in vain that build it." I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better, than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing Governments by Human wisdom and leave it to chance, war and conquest.

I therefore beg leave to move-that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the Clergy of this City be requested to officiate in that Service."

Benjamin Franklin, who was, according to many, the least christian of the founding fathers, was the one who proposed the idea of starting the congressional meetings with prayer. He, although not a christian himself, knew the power of God. They knew what they were doing. they were not making a nation to stand for a while and die, but to last til the end of the world. taking prayer out of school is one of many things being done that contributes to the deterioration of america. we are destroying the foundation on which we are built. commiting national suicide in a sense. these are the principles and morals on which our great nation America was founded on.

Let me ask you a question. Would you build a house, then destroy the foundation and try to live in it?

oh, that would be fun. I could start praying to the Lord Anubis at the beginning of a test!
They are just mad because that is one less place they have to shove the religion down our throats!

Blessed Be and many bright wishes!

School is where you go to be educated, not the place for any type of religious ritual. Those southern Christians sound like religious zealots. Why would they have a need for their pompous, self-righteous displays of religious devotion at school? They need to learn that religious freedom also means freedom from religion and School is certainly one place where this should apply, school needs to remain neutral.
