My stepdad wants to get the neighborhood chickens out of the yard, but he's thinking about shooting them with a pellet gun. I don't want to hurt them.

Use a hose and spray them with water when ever they come into your yard. Your neighbor should respect you and keep his chickens on his land, but if that is not happening spraying them with water is better than shooting them.

Chickens are afraid of predatory birds.Buy an inflatable or plastic owl and place it on the fence where the chickens can see it only when they come into you're yard. Or maybe on the ground where they enter you're yard.

Chickens do hate getting wet so the hose idea is your best bet. Also try and discover where they are getting in and tell the farmer so it is HIS responsibility to keep HIS chickens on HIS property. All else fails call animal control and they will deal with it!

Just herd them out of the yard..get up behind them and start walking,they should leave but you may have to do that everyday!!!GOOD LUCK!!!

Chase them away every time you see them in your yard, making loud hissing noises and waving brightly colored cloth. Also you can tie a dog in your yard to discourage them from coming there. Do whatever you can to show the chickens that they are not welcome.

Chasing them or spraying them with the garden hose would be your best bet. But they'll probably be back again. Lol.

talk to your neighbors about it and tell them to keep thier chickens in their own yard.
