Do you need to know the entire canon of the Superman comics in order to prove that Superman is not real?

Or am I to believe that Superman really was someone's only begotten son who was given to Earth to guard it from evil using his superpowers (he even died and returned) because I don't know what happened in frame three of Superman issue 89?

Good point, but if you read the comic books you can laugh at the fallacies of logic and be surprised by the unnecessary violence. Same for Christianity.

Without knowing the full discussion you had on the topic, it's hard to say; but what I mean by the word "God" is quite different from what a Hindu means, for example. So it's possible that if an atheist were only familiar with the Hindu concept, he might not be refuting the Christian concept at all.

It is a good point made stronger when you go into detail about the amethyst that keeps supermans power down or was it some kind of night,, I always did have problems with those stones, speeking of which jesus was strong enough to role a very large one out of his way , didn't make him superman but very tolerant none the less to put up with those peskey men with the big old hammers,, after all he wasn't bulletproof .I bet that left a mark.....ouch!!!!

frame 3 of comic book 89 is simply a large POW symbol with the bright yellow flash behind it..i am so gald that the comics have evolved since then.

anyhow.

if you do not understand my faith, how can you refute it?

it is almost like going to work as a supervisor, but not knowing how to do the jobs of the people that you are supposed to be supervising. how can you tell someone how to do their job. When you do not know how to do it yourself?

I admit from a purely logical standpoint. religions are easy to refute. there is no proof of any existence of any god.

now if i asked you to go into a room for 2 to 3 hours. and you knew that we were going to fill that room with 160 to 300 degree steam. and that we would open the door 3 times to let the steam out and to pump more steam in, and your only protection from searing heat and blistering steam would be a holy man sitting in the room and praying with you ...would you do it? HELL NO who would do THAT...

It is called an INIPI (Sweat Lodge) and people have done it for 15,000 years. come join us. and throw things that defy logic into your logical world.

To be able to say you are a true atheist you would have to be omnipotent. I don't think there is a person on earth that is all knowing.

They're just avoiding the truth.
