Ive had braces for 6 years and counting and i am getting tired of all this metal in my mouth. how long has other ppl had them and how can i deal with this?

18 months. Unless you have had a tooth surgery used to pull down tooth in gum. But 18 months is the going amount.

Wow...that is a heck of a long time. Average I'd say is about 2 years, maybe 2 1/2. 6 is a long time though. It really all depends how much work needs to be done. And how much space between yout teeth needs to be added or taken away. I dont really know what there is to be said about helping you deal with it besides just try to imagine they arnt there.

everybody is diverse. the undemanding time is 4 years. 2 years in braces and a couple of years donning a retainer=4 years. Thats in case you place on and do each little thing the Dr. tells you to do and don't omit your appointments, because of the fact it is going to purely postpone the therapy.

Usually between one and three years - depending on how crooked your teeth are. I think its better to not have them taken off too quickly becuase your teeth can try to move back into their former positions.

i got mine off 2 days ago, and i had them for 1 year, 7 months and 8 days

i'm thinking about getting them and i was told id have them for 2 years. did they not tell you how long you should have em for at the start?

THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN REASONS WHY IT'S BEEN THIS LONG, EG. YOU STILL HAD BABY TEETH AND YOU HAD TO WAIT FOR ALL THE ADULT TEETH TO GROW.
MOST PEOPLE WITH ADLT TEETH ARE 24 MONTHS OR LESS.
