Atheists don't say Darwin was the father of atheism. Believers make a bigger deal out of Darwin than atheists. Sure, he was the first one to bring the idea of evolution to light, but that's just how we view him--the originator of the idea.
Lee Strobel has not brought to light any compelling scientific grounds for divine intelligence. There is *NO* compelling scientific evidence for ANY sort of supernatural being, entity, or activity. Period.
Hitler was a Christian.
I'll give you a little leeway on your fourth paragraph. Yes, those institutions were not following Jesus's commandments. They were, however, still killing in the name of Christianity, and have a lot of passages in the Old Testament to back up what they were doing.

It means you are blinded by your own wisdom, instead of exploring the facts.., the possibility of facts that exist that have not been discovered. A fact undiscovered does not become a non fact. Certain classes of blindness for example were not discovered until they were validated - BUT - the causes remained the same despite the fact someone discovered it. In religious circles this logic applies, and the best atheists can come up with is throwing the Easter Bunny into the equation, or asking some dimwit question about God creating something he cant fix. Close Minded, Narrow Minded, Retarded, take your pick. I'll even invent and sell a new expression to you for $50 if you'd like

I've never heard from a biased viewpoint before . most atheists are very rational to me and a few contrived specious comments don't really alter that . the fallacy of comparing hitler or stalin as prove of atheism being bad or closeminded is a nonsequitar . they both were pretty good at other things and considered apart from immoral , evil and destructive ,by many brilliant so go figure if the Holy wars were actually justified by religious ignorance would the merits of those who took part be considered as the same . the morality of Jesus was around years before Jesus but that is not to say christians follow it any better than others . check your hat size.

I don't know any fellow atheist who thinks that Darwin is the father of atheism. Straw man, perhaps?
"They ignore all the death and destruction that atheist philosophies have caused in history and even try to spin Hitler into a christian."
Stalin and Mao killed, not out of atheism, but out of a fanatical quasi-religious belief in Communism. Hitler mentioned God in Mein Kampf and the Nazis used the Lutheran church as just another tool to keep the masses in line. What about the death and destruction caused by the Crusades, the various Inquisitions, the torture and burning of witches, the genocide against the Albigensians and Waldensians, etc., etc., etc.?
"Etc, etc. It seems a lot of atheists are far from 'rational' or 'reasonable'."
Your post is far from being rational or reasonable itself...

Do you even think when you type?
First of all don't generalize I never use the word rational because I don't believe human beings can be rational.
Second I never talk about Darwin.
Hitler was in fact religious! He used religious symbols though he altered them he used them. I'm not into science but I know my history and your twisting it all around to suit your needs I'm sorry but pull your head out of the sand for 2 minutes and look up some things about Hitler he was very religious.
People like you make me sad because you don't even know the history you only know what your religion tells you I have nothing against religion but people who believe in that and only that are sad you want to try and say all atheists are close minded well I'm far from it. Before I even accepted the label I did a lot of research on other religions I thought might fit my beliefs. Just because I don't believe in yours doesn't mean I'm close minded so do yourself a favor and stick your foot in your mouth.

Not sure what Darwin has to do with anything...
Not sure what I watch on Youtube has to do with anything...
Compelling scientific grounds for divine intelligence....I wonder how they spun that one!
Hitler, regardless of religious affiliation, did play upon the beliefs of a largely Christian nation.
You don't need to follow Jesus's commandments to be Christian (because Jesus was the only one who ever did successfully).
As for atheists being irrational or close-minded, I can't help but laugh a little, as that is pretty much the hallmark of the modern day American Christian (just look at their stances on homosexuality, abortion, stem-cell research, etc.,etc.)

You're thinking of agnostics who are also nihilist. True, godless agnostic communists and socialists have produced a lot of death and poverty but not to the extent that religion has. Communism and socialism have only been with us for the past few centuries so it might have some catching up to do in terms of genocide. Science alone doesn't disprove the existent of a god. The problem itself lies in identity and Aquinas knew this as well. For further reading, check out Ayn Rand's nonfiction books on philosophy or at least read Aquinas' 'Summa Theologica' if you can't bear to read an atheist's writings.

Another idiot irrationally grouping all Atheists from what a few do.
PEOPLE bring death and destruction from all religious backgrounds (and lack thereof).
I do not talk as though Darwin is the father of Atheism... where are you getting your "facts?" I've watched all sorts of videos and read many, many books on all religions. I've extensively studied Christianity, Buddhism, Paganism, Wicca, Humanism and others for my comparisons.
If people that persecuted and killed others in the name of jesus than that just proves another reason why we don't prefer your hateful and vengeful god.

No one talks of Darwin as father of atheism
I never watch philosophy of any kind on youtube.
Hitler was a christian. What do you think anti-semistism is? It is hate towards the Jews for killing Jesus. He even discusses this in Mein Kampf.
So the crusades, inquisition, with hunts, etc weren't Christians?!?
Did you know that bearing false witness and lies are considered sins in your religion?

It is apparent that you don't have a clue what you are talking about. Atheism is not a religion and has no father. And yes, Hitler was a christian, albeit a bad one. People have killed more people in the name of religion than anything else. Did I also say that there is no personal god?
Those are the facts. Atheists are rational thinkers and doers.
