Here's some questions to ask, all the time . . .
Does it glorify God?
Does it help grow the Kingdom on earth?
Would you say it, do it, or think it, with everyone you know watching on a screen?
No?
Then why would you do it?
Godspeed.

Think about it this way: Would an all-powerful being such as God really be so thin-skinned as to be upset or even rattled by something said about him in a silly TV show like South Park or Family Guy?
Also, it's important to remember that South Park pretty much makes fun of everything in society. They also taken shots at several other religions (e.g. Mormons, Scientology).

A true christian does not have a religion only a relationship with with G-D and Jesus. What do you call "our religion"? Muslim have their religion, Buddhists have their religion. Read Ephesians 2:8-9;Romans 10:9-10. Not one believe aka religion can boast a relationship except Christians. If you have been born again, and be live in the bible word for word, then it might be alright to laugh at some religious program that does not believe in the bible word for word. Guess where they are headed for.

I myself am NOT a fan of South Park, or much of a fan of anything or anyone who mocks others faiths/religions.
People may say that I am anal or uptight, but it's just my choice...
I think if it's humor with good taste, there is no harm done, but if I know South Park (because I used to watch it) they don't do anything in good taste.
I'm not here to judge you by what you watch, but I do have a question for you...
Why would you want to watch a show that ridicules Christ, or any religion!? If you think it's funny - go ahead, but don't come crying to us when they make fun of your faith.
britney487 - Don't worry about the thumbs down hun, they don't mean anything compared to your love and devotion to Christ. I agree with you whole-heartedly!

Watch it. I won't condemn you for it. But make this an opinion poll just to see how others feel. I will admit, in the past I have seen south park. I think they take to many liberties especially with taking shots at Jesus and Christianity as a whole.
Remember, they are not laughing at our faith, they are poking fun at it. There is a fine line between laughing and mocking.

Yes, it's ok to laugh. God gave us (ok, SOME of us) a sense of humor. I like the answerer who said God isn't thin-skinned. I am inclinded to agree.
My favorite SouthPark was the one where when Satan got to Heaven, the only people there were the Mormon Missionaries. LOL - plus that would teach us ALL a lesson. Because it seems as if often, all the other Christian denominations unite against Mormons (who are Christians by the way).
I am a Christian.

You silly guy or woman. The meaning of existence is; attempt and be intense high quality to human beings, stay away from eating fat, examine a competent e book each now and then, get some strolling in, and attempt and stay jointly in peace and solidarity with human beings of all creeds and countries. That or: 40 two

Well I am ONE OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES, Yes, South Park and most every one else has fun with MY beliefs.
I have found that unless it is Scriptural OFFENSIVE!
Then laughter is the best medicine!
Jehovah God had a sense of humor! Or else, no Giraffes. Camels, Duck billed Platypus, OR HUMANS!!!!
And, In the Scriptures He is called THE HAPPY GOD!
As for me on a personal basis, " If I walk through LOWS or HOME DEPOT!...I cannot resist knocking on at least a few of those fine looking doors for practice!"

well.... the age old question is What would Jesus do? I know things seem harmless, but wouldn't it be better if instead of watching south park we fill ourselves with the holy spirit? instead of doing the minimum for God why not be the best Christian we can be instead of seeing what we can get away with? I too struggle with these questions but they are important to think about... Here's another... Is God enough for you? or are you so discontent with God and his gift of eternal life in heavan you must turn to earthly pleasures to satisfy your needs (or what you may think are you needs)?

I don't think that you should.
In a small portion of an article at goarch.org, an article written by Father Angelo Artemas states about this:
"We are encouraged to endure all difficulty, to remain faithful to Jesus Christ unto death, and to worship Jesus Christ while doing good deeds for our world with every breath we have left.
In a very real sense, every time one gives into temptation and sins, the beast is born. Evil is not confined to a particular day, date, or time period. The devil is alive and well, and is a regular guest in magazines, books, movies, theaters, television shows, radio programs, schools, malls, concerts, soccer games, on the Internet (working overtime), and even at some churches and Greek festivals.
But the devil is not to be feared, for Jesus Christ has overcome evil. The only power evil has is the power people give it. Every time one does good, prays, reads scripture, participates in Sacraments, sacrifices for their loved ones, nurtures, comforts, feeds, cares and loves, evil is rendered powerless; and Jesus Christ has come into the world again. "
Did you notice, in the 2nd paragraph, the mention of television shows. Therefore, I urge you not to watch any TV show if it makes fun of Christ or Christianity, nor any music. The reason being, it poisons your soul to listen and watch these things. Remember the scripture passage:
" If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." Colossians 3:1-2
and
" Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things. The things which you learned and recieved and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you." Phillipians 4:8-9
It is not ok to laugh at our religion (or in our case our relationship with God- as it is known among us) , nor is it good to watch shows that make fun of it, even if they seem harmless. May God bless you in all that you do, and may He lead you in His truth. I will pray for you.
God bless
