I have 2 cats a female & male. The female is the mom of the male and i was wondering since neither are neutered/ spayed is it possible that the female can get pregnant? Or do they no they are mother & son so that wouldnt be right.

When she comes into heat again he's going to respond like a male and yes, they can mate. The fact the hormones are telling them to do this has nothing to do with 'right or wrong', those are human terms. They're cats, and nature says one is in heat and one can breed now.
Get them both fixed or you're going to be having inbred kittens that nobody is going to want. Genetic defects show up in pairings that are this close genetically.

They will mate eventually. That is not the worst part either. If the female becomes preganant some of the kittens could be born deformed. I know a lady who never gets her cats desexed and a friend of mine said that she saw some of these kittens and it was really sad. They eventually die....
I think you should at least get the female desexed.

Cats don't care if the cat of the opposite sex is related to them. The males just think, "Cat in heat!" and the female thinks, "I can be bred by the male!"
Many purebreds are bred with family members, and consquently, tend to carry many genetic defects since they mate with those who have a chance of carrying the same recessive genes. PLEASE get them FIXED ASAP.

yes she can get pregnant, no after the baby is off of the mother its on its own.......so it's no longer a mother and son... it's a female and male cat.....

Of course he can get her pregnant! He has the parts. Cats don't know the difference between their mom and the cat next door. When they are horny they are horny! Happens all the time in cats!

It can & WILL happen unless you get them spayed/neutered.
And their offspring will bring genetic weakness DOUBLED into the gene pool.
Do ALL cat lovers a favor & get them fixed.

How do you think puppy mills do it. In- breeding.
When she's in heat all she wants to do is get pregnet, it doesn't matter if it's her son our not. And when he smells her in heat he will wnat to mate with her.
If you really dont wnat to get her fized or him neutered, just get diapers you know like at the petstores.
Just watching them isn't enough if you don't want them to breed.

Yes it is possible. Animals, be it cats or dogs do not associate "oh, that's my mom". They will breed if you do not get them fixed. Please, for the sake of the cat population, please do the right thing and have them both fixed.
