many conservative Christians believe that God is against homosexuality and they back this up by pointing out a passage in a bible that gives a list of the kinds of people who don't get into heaven and apparently homosexuals are on that list. However they also completely disregard the fact that in ancient hebrew and greek (the original kanguages of the bible) there was no word for homosexuality and also forget that those who are homosexual were born that way (they claim it's a choice but it isn't, who would CHOOSE a lifestyle that people would descriminate against and make it very difficult to get married and raise a family) and the problem with this is if God condmens gay people then he created them knowing they would be condemned because of the way he created them. Gay marriage is still a huge debate but I think it's only a matter of time before they are allowed to and then we'll look back on this time period and wonder how we could have been so judgmental and hateful towards people who really aren't that different from us at all.

NOPE! Marriage is not, nor has it ever been, a religious practice. Christianity preaches that marriage was made by God to unify a man and a woman. However, many ancient civilizations (and some still existing) all pre-date Christianity - and even Judaism. Marriage has been a concept for tens of thousands of years. In some instances, a marriage was only a contract that lasted 1 year between two people. At the end of that year, you could continue the marriage, or change partners. And, no - the US Constitution is NOT based on any religion. The founding fathers that signed the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were not even Christian. EDIT: Why do states not allow same sex marriage? It's a simple misunderstanding of religious texts. However, they are not willing to hear that what they have been told was truth - is actually a fabrication of the truth. That's why I don't get too upset about it. People are only as open as they allow themselves, and as much as their own religion allows. side note: Most that claim to be a Christian - have never even read the Bible. In a study done last year out of Right Wing Conservative Fundies - only 11% said they have read the Bible cover to cover. Interesting enough - a similar study was done of Atheists and over 60% claim to have read the Bible cover to cover. Makes you wonder, huh?

Lesbians are not gay, they are lesbian. That is why there are "Lesbian and Gay" (and Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual) groups.

Whether homosexuals can be married to other homosexuals depends on the laws of the country - different countries have different laws. In the UK they can have "civil partnerships" which is marriage by another name. In most countries homosexuals are allowed to get married to people of the opposite sex, but such marriages tend not to last.

When you ask "does Lord accept this", which Lord do you mean?

Well, this is a good question. Technically everyone's CAPABLE of most things. However I think you're wanting to know is it permissable. In the US, no homosexual couples can get legally "married" That's inclusive of lesbians. Whether or not the Lord accepts it is a matter of personal faith. I personally believe that if two humans love each other, they should be able to join themselves in marriage. We're always taught about loving one another in most religions aren't we?

Kai, 'capable' of marrying? Of course. Does 'Lord' accept this? If religious organizations oppose gay marriage, it's their right and they are not obliged marry gays. But marriage is also a civil matter in our society, which is, frankly, none of your god's affair. The state of Massachusetts, with its large Christian population, has legalized gay marriage there. The churches need not involve themselves. Separation of church and state, whether you good people understand it or not, is part and parcel of our Republic.

In certain states homosexuals are allowed to get married..like Hawaii and Massachusetts. Well i don't know if the lord accepts this. I am in no position to judge any man. I guess we will have to wait until we can ask the lord ourselves.

Yes they are capable of getting married. They pay taxes in this country, so why should they be denied a right that everyone has? If they want to affirm the fact that they love their partner, then it should be allowed. Or, if they do not get these rights, I don't think they should have to pay taxes. No rights, no taxes! and who gives a rat's rear end if a certain god accepts it, if they are not trasping around, getting with every other person in site, then it is just fine by my book!

Of course we do. I was happily gay married for 18 years. Homosexuals have been getting married for thousands of years and will for the next thousands of years.

Don't forget that there is no record anywhere that says Jesus Christ ever said anything against Homosexuality or Gay marriage.

Homosexual= gay or lesbian. Capable of marriage? Yes. Legal? Not in all states, though it should be. Who cares if a "God" approves or not? Love is better than hate any day if you ask me!

Of course they are capable of getting married, but most states do not legally allow it. The Lord doesn't have a problem with it, but some of his followers do. For an example of this type of Christian google Fred Phelps.
