Do guys mainly like a girl because they think she's pretty?

I wanna know if there are more quailities in a girl that a guy looks for besides appearance.*sigh

I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that physical attraction isn't important, it is, especially when you first meet someone. If you're not physically attracted to them, chances are you're not going to strike up a conversation. After the initial attraction, that's when we look for other qualities. Remember, all guys have a different standard of beauty, what one guy finds attractive, another may not.
I've always liked girls with a great sense of humor, and someone who is intelligent. My wife can make me laugh like no one else, and she's pretty much a genius.

Girls like handsome guys, but every girl has a different definition of handsome. I've liked this one guy for a really long time and I think he's really cute, but all of my friends think he is ugly. It honestly depends on the girl. Also, girls go for personality as well, that's a big one.

A girl's looks are important but I also consider (1)whether or not their religous beliefs are the same as mine (2)No guy wants to go out with a girl that had tons of sexual partners (3)Whether or not your values or morals are the same. It's important to think about these things because if you don't, I can promise you that it will come back and haunt you forever if you get married to a guy that has some serious differences of view on numbers 1 or 3. Number 2- is just my personal opinion.

A guy might show initial interest because she is pretty, but being pretty will not keep him for long. I find that most guys want to spend time with a girl who is fun and can make him laugh. If he enjoys being around you, can talk about stuff with you, and you actually listen and hold a nice conversation together, he is more likely to call you back. 14-18 - looks
19-25 - looks and some smarts
26-35 - looks, smarts, and a good second income
36-46 - settled for plain looks, wants to be the smart one, wife is unemployed
47-59 - desperate, will take anything, has ulcers and needs a mommy
60-75 - Divorced, well off, good supply of viagra, no takers.

Of course guys look for more than beauty. Being attractive to any specific guy is just an automatic requirement. Neither a girl nor a boy could want a partner that they were not attracted to. Think of beauty like making a good first impression. God bless.

I think that guys mostly look at looks first. I know that eventually, it matters to most guys about what is inside the girl that really counts. I am older and see how they act and hear how they talk.

I have been told that as they mature and age, they don't really want a good looking woman if her personality is ugly. They get tired of women who can't make their own decisions or who want to totally depend on a man to make them happy.

I really don't see someone as wanting to be with someone the rest of their lives no matter what they look like if they don't have substance.

I'm a believer in beauty being on the inside. But without that first physical attraction, two people cannot come together. SO after the "I think your cute" phase happens. Than guys will definitely start looking for other features.

Personally qualities I like in a girl (other than a being cute)
- a sense of humor
- honesty/genuine
- not selfish
- some ambition, but not too much.
- and NOT too needy

Girls/Women need to not stress about their looks so much. A great personality will land you a much better relationship than just a pretty face.

I think appearance is the a key thing both guys and girls see in each other because it's the first thing you notice. If you have a shitty personality though, then I think most of them will just forget about you.
