Hello, Smatts:
A very large percentage of Protestant ministers deny that Mary was a virgin at Jesus' conception.
However, the doctrine of Immaculate conceptions does not refer to Mary's virginity. It is a Catholic concept that says Mary was more than human, that she was especially created in her mothers womb so she could be perfect (Immaculate) and therefore have a perfect and holy Jesus.
That doctrine is rejected by almost every one, except, I think the Anglican community has accepted almost everything the Catholic community believe.
Regardless of disharmony between denominations, they will soon unite on those points they hold in common. Namely: Jesus is Lord and Savior (TRUE), and Sunday sacredness (FALSE), that is a tradition of man and not supported by scripture. See: http://abiblecode.tripod.com
Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

Some Episcopalians do,but most do not.
There is a wide latitude in Anglican beliefs and interpretations of the Bible, the Creeds, the Councils and the 39 Articles

First off, I would like to respectfully point out that Episcopalians, as well as the rest of the Anglican Communion, are a denomination of Christianity and not a separate religion.
No, we do not believe she was "without the stain of original sin," nor do we pray to her for intercession. And we do not believe in her perpetual virginity.
We do, however, believe she was a virgin at the time of her conception of Jesus (parthenogenesis) and was divinely blessed. (see Article II of the Articles of Religion.) We do celebrate her assumption on the 15th of August along with the RCC.
If you have any questions about the Anglican Communion, please feel free to e-mail me.

One of the great things about being Episcopalian is that no matter what you believe, there is at least one other person who agrees with you.
