@ terry g i agree i like this kind of architecture so much it is complicated and at the same time simple and all the decoration end at one point . symbolizing the spritual journey of all the creations to God.

@where is reality i respect your idea and i love the architecture of churches alot too. but i love islamic architecture more beacause of it is kind of simpler
although it has very complicated design but it is all paterns and they dont use paintings and in mosques you dont find
statues, big chandeliers, chairs , furnitures and it has a surprising simplisity and in domes all the decorations go to one point symbolizing the journey from many to one or the spritual journey of all the creation to God, thank you

I appreciate architectural artwork. Because of the wealth and power that religions were able to command they could afford the best of it.
Because the Muslims followed the rejection of images they explored the representation of patterns. In practising this pattern development they managed to display almost every crystal that could be shown in 2 dimensions. Islamic mosaics are likely the best tiling work ever and rival any of the mandalas as meditational images..
For representational art it is the catholic cathedrals. To bad that so many of them are falling to ruins.

I think they're very beautiful. One doesn't have to know the faith to know the beauty of these buildings.
.
But I ask this of both Christians and Muslims, how much money is enough to spend on inspirational architecture before giving to the poor?
.

Architecturally they are breathtaking, but I also enjoy marveling at Christian cathedrals and Hindu temples, even though I'm not religious.

For me is really over loaded and have not comparison at all with the renacentist ( century 15 - 17)period of the churches, and our images are amazingly inspiring and nurturing... Leonardo, Michelangelo, Cezanne, Velazquez... that are real artists...
