We're human. I know plenty of pagan a$$holes. Don't be sticking paganism into a "holier-than-thou" pigeonhole. It's not true, and believing otherwise is delusion. There are nice pagans and not so nice pagans; same goes for members of *all* religions.
As for being misunderstood, I think there's entirely too much of a persecution complex going on in the community. The fact that the Wiccan pentacle is now allowed on Veteran's markers should be proof that we're making headway.

Been reading the comments here. We've got a long way to go. It's all been postive, VERY positive, but this has been the first step.
Might need to be some clarification as to the labels Wiccan & Pagan. My _personal_ defination is that Wicca is one of many Pagan faiths (be it a popular one).
So saying Pagans are OK but not sure about Wiccans, is like saying Christains are OK but not sure about Methodist.

i really do not know. i would have to say that Pangel is the kindest person in R&S. and most of the Pagans/ Wiccans are very kind. but some of us (i.e. myself) can be rather nasty at times too.
but as for misunderstood, we are right up there with the Muslims in the misunderstood market.

Yes, and no.
I think that people who REALLY have Pagan beliefs tend to be more open minded and caring in here than others.
But then there are the "posers". The 15 year old emo kids that will take up any religion to anger thier parents and make them "different", even though they may know little to nothing about thier adopted religion.
But to answer your question in a more straight-forward manner, yes I do. I have had many a great discussion with Pagans, and almost all of them are open minded and caring.

We can be just as cruel as anyone else (we're still human), but I've really never seen any Pagan be down right nasty as I've seen others be on R&S. There are a lot of misunderstood religions on here seeing as how (in general not all) atheists attack all religions as being fairy tales and make fun of them and Christians and Muslims try to convert everyone and say we're all going to hell and are all evil. We're not the only misunderstood religion, but as (again in general) we're not cruel on R&S, ours stand out more as being misunderstood. But thank you anyway and Blessed be to you too.)O(

It is not confined to just R&S, its everywhere in the world. But yes Pagans, Wiccans, Druids, Asatruars(generally) are some of the kindest people in the world with the most respect and tolerance for others and their beliefs, no matter what it is.

Merry Meet!
I agree, but I gotta admit I find it amusing, too! We practice that which is very old and reasonable simple. We preach peace and love toward everything. We are most likely the group least apt to lead the world closer to Armageddon, but closer to the Light.
Yet we are the most misunderstood, not just here, but virtually everywhere. But I am glad you are here...the more the Merrier!
Peace!

I think they are some of the most misunderstood anywhere.
Not always kind; there's darkness everywhere. As a Scorpio, one of thing I myself must guard against is the "sting" I can deliver, often without really meaning to, or without considering the consequences.
But I think those here on R&S do put forth the additional effort to be kind (and it can be an effort sometimes *rolls eyes*) because we are here to share, to teach, and to learn, and hate and fear are not conducive to any of those goals.

Yes, and I think it is because we do not open ourselves and provide opportunity for those interested to ask us questions. I posted this opportunity question Friday and recieved many great questions and am in an email frenzy to continue discussions of such. Wouldn't it be great if Pagans all opened up to recieve questions about us and ours?
Blessed Be
