I think it's the other way round, that helping others and doing what's right leads to happiness and feeling good about yourself.

happiness and satisfaction does not necessarily lead to righteous living. A non-believer in God can appear to be "happy". Because happiness is based on what is happening in your life. I think for me the statement should read- "if we believe in Christ, and have been clothed in His righteousness, even in the midst of pain and suffering, there is an undercurrent of joy. Joy comes from obeying God which is "right living". Happiness only from happenings. So when bad times come, that is inevitable- joy will last. There is joy in obedience. A happy person does not necessarily live a righteous life, which is one that pleases God.

There are a number of serial killers that have been perfectly happy and satisfied in committing murders.

Do you think that leading them to righteousness and good deeds?

The Bible says, "The way of the sinner is hard".
I've found that to be true, fun and games notwithstanding.
Who knows if serial killers are happy?

Happiness leads to inaction, because you're already satisified.

Righteousness leads to becoming acutely aware of the evil in this world, which leads to unhappiness.

Yes, you can say that, because the only righteousness in us is Jesus Christ. Without Christ we are nothing and happy is the man that knows his Creator.

Just the opposite. I'm happy and satisfied with the way I am, and I hope to never be more depressed. The world sucks.

Usually the righteous people I see have hostility inside. I mean the are so concerned with judging that they get upset if people dont do what they want.

No, but Joy and Peace are. Happiness is based on circumstances.

You know, I think you have something there.
When you are content with yourself, you aren't so worried about what other people might think about you, or if they have something you don't.
You are free to be yourself.
It is the only real freedom there is.
