Enjoy the break. :-)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with feeling excited when your mom comes over and takes your baby for the night. Take note of what you said, you're a S.A.H.M. the both of you spend every moment of your time with each other. If her granma has so much love she can offer ad loves spending time with her, that's PRICELESS.:) It's totally understandable of your expressed feelings, and no it's not a silly question. You're a hard working mom, and the BEST MOM for your baby .
Trust me I know the feeling; so attached to my boys that I don't even allow them to sleep apart from me. Jusr the other day they went to haircuts with my brother without me! I wanted to cry so badly. lol. Maybe I obsess over them too much. In the case of you, your daughter and your mom, relax, she's getting the best love from both of you. What more can a baby ask for?
Mom and Granma's love:= priceless.

Not at all! I bust out the balloons & party streamers...just kidding! We all need a break now & then & I look forward to having a break also. Mind you, I spend the whole time missing my son & wondering how he's doing but that's another story. Just look foward to the time off, enjoy it & be thankful you have someone to give you a break...it's a great blessing!

When my dad takes mine (one or both), it's such a sweet time. I love them, but getting a break once in a while is needed, and deserved. I'm also a SAHM. Don't feel bad, you won't enjoy the break as much!

No it is not wrong to want time to yourself!! While we love our children everyone needs a break from time to time! I usually feel a little guilty myself, I have a 5 year old and a 22 month old, but to get a good nights sleep, plus alone time with my husband, dinner and a movie...those are rare treats that I treasure once a month. When I feel guilty about it, I think that it is better that my children see a happy mom, who gets to have time to calm herself once in a while, than an overworked and stressed mom who is just on edge. Please try to not feel bad about it! :)

I would love for my parents to take care of my children for even a couple of hours! I'd recommend checking out momsclub.org if you need a support group. I'm also a sahm, and love my momsclub!!! Goodluck

No, its not wrong.
We all need a break now and again, and as a parent, it's really difficul tot get even a couple opf hours to ourselves, so an overnight break is well worth the excitement you feel!
Have a good night!

No, it's not bad at all. When my ex first left me, I was in a real state because I had just quit my job to stay home with our son and his handicapped daughter. It was a real mess, and I was scrambling to find another one. I was able to substitute teach a bit, but it took about five months for me to find a decent paying "real" job. Anyway, being with your child 24/7 is a real strain. You love them to death, but you still get a little tired of ALWAYS having to account for someone else whereabouts. The first morning I left for work again, and dropped my son at daycare, I suddenly felt so FREE.... it was crazy.

My Dad does this and we get so excited. We still have the baby but our son who is 3 goes with my Dad for the night and we STILL get excited! Haha, I wish he could take both so we can actually go somewhere.
It's not wrong, you need your own time and fun so that you can be sane enough to take care of your child.

i do not think is wrong...
I am not stay home mum but I work full time and that when I get home from work I have to cook and then work at home again sometimes... I get tired and that I do not have anyone who will look after him overnight or stay over but sometimes is good when a friend say she will look after him for couple of hours...I fell happy too.
People think as mum you suppose to be full time with you kids and that is why you have them... I think that is wrong mum is human too and that mum need times to able to do things for themselves too...
what you can do it... you can live her with you husband now and again and go do your own thing.... and that is not wrong too...
I do that now my boy is 2 and half years old... I usally go when he is asleep or going to be so my husband can share the daddy side of things too... if not why always mum and mum this and mum that... is not fair to the mum...
I can say you are not wrong... and that you should fell luncky that your mum want to look after her overnight... if anyone say you are wrong, they do not know what is like to be full time mum.
