The very name of God found in the Bible means..."I AM" or more specifically "I am that I am." Jehovah or YHWH (see wikipedia for an idea of the history of that Hebrew Tetragrammation) translates Yah' hovah. Which means that God is self existant. Its a little difficult to imagine because humans are created in His image but our nature is finite...limited by perameters of time. For God, time is a concept He designed for us and it doesn't apply to Him. Its tough to imagine eternity going either direction but the truth is...God has always existed and He always will. He is immortal. The God of the Bible is The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. They are the Holy Family (one being)of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit being the power of God the Father and God the Son as they relate to us...all equal and all powerful. The God of the Bible says there is no other God except for the false gods we create for ourselves...yet He is our maker. God bless you and your family. Love in Christ, ~J~

We live on earth and in time. With time comes birth, growing, developing, aging and dying. Keep in mind God created everything-including time. There are no clocks in heaven, it is eternity so time does not exists. It is simply a state of being. you simply are there or you are not. If you are not there you must be created by something infinite as God. We as humans are run by time and cannot possibly percieve a dimension where time (aging, dying etc.) is non-existant, then again, how could you possibly understand an infinite God?

The human mind. Like all deities, he's an externalized ego-projection. Not just of one mind, but a collection of sorts from society. Humans created the concept of deity mostly to give explanations and answers to things that aren't readily explainable (simply because the human mind abhors a vacuum).
More specifically, the "God" of the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), goes back to Judaism and also a heavy influence from Zoroastrianism.

The only one smart enough to make God is God.
He went back in time and made Himself.
That's why He's says He's "The beginning and end"

no created him. God is God.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ... was in the world, and the world came to be through him,
if it wasnt for God you would not be here

Well if you choose to believe in God, then no one created Him- He just always was. I'm putting my money on man though.
