Hmm, yeah can't figure that one out, myself mate. I agree with the answerer above me, We do all have it. It's just the part about religion that I'm stuck on.
I mean, I wouldn't say its' a mental illness, that's a bit extreme, but I definitely agree with you on the "allows you to accept things as fact without any proof at all" part. I know that's exactly what faith is and I've heard people(rather religious people)say that. But I find it hard to pour my heart and soul into something is isn't exactly half prov-en.
--I am just voicing my opinion, so i truly don't mean to offend anyone's religion, etc. --
I don't know. It's tough for me, because I guess I'm still undecided in my "religion". I'm Agnostic and right now, I'm just trying to find exactly what I believe, but yeah, faith is a little iffy for me as well. Cheers!

You are mistaking "Blind Faith" for faith. Some people can do that ,others ,like me need to believe in order to put my faith in it.Belief is a noun and faith is a verb.I believe the lights will go on when i flick the switch, but until I get off my @ss and do it,I'm not putting my faith in the switch.
God has left us so many FULFILLED prophecies,I can put my trust and faith in anyone of them. Then top it off with tons and tons of archealogical evidence, plus the millions of changed lives for the better of everyday people( not the hierarchy ,power always leads to corruption ).I put my educated FAITH in God as the Father and Jesus his Son,the savior of the world. All held together only by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The word Faith, itself is a verb in Greek "Pistis" to put belief into action.
Blind Faith ,is not faith at all.

Faith is trust. We trust when we believe. People who believe in God, trust Him.
I have Faith in God. I trust He protects me and lead my way. I have my own proof of His existence, based on my own experiences in life which are not the same as yours, but that's OK. You are not wrong, neither I am, neither anyone else is. You can't call Faith an illness, because you can't judge what you don't have. If you expect all the world to think with your brain, you are lost.
Peace!

faith is when you truley believe and you don't just know that God exists but you believe with all of your soul, heart, and mind that he is real. God/ Jesus helps everyone even those who aren't his followers. God is always there. but if you do believe in him, then he will work in your heart. and sometimes it may seem as if he is doing absolutley nothing but really he is in the making of something very amazing for you and your life.
hope i helped you. and i hope you will begin to follow the christian belief.
here is how you accecpt jesus into your heart...
in order to become a christian...
you must believe that God sent his only son to die on the cross to save everyone from their sins and that he is the one and only true God.
and that you want to serve him for the rest of your life, and you want to be a follower of him.
you can make this desicion anywhere at any point of time or any place.
good luck with your life and God bless you!

No it isn't proof that there is no God. Just as he doesn't "cure" people who don't believe in him. He gives us free will. The choice is ours.
I choose to believe, you choose not to believe. Faith requires no proof, that is why its called faith.
I am not mentally ill, simply very firm in my belief.

Everyone practices faith, even you. Have you ever taken a train or flown? You have faith that the transit staff will take you where you intend, even though you don't have proof.
Everyone has faith, we just choose who or what to put it in. Many of us wisely choose God above all else.

We all have some degree of faith. Even if it is faith enough to sit in a chair, knowing that the chair will hold you up. That takes faith to even sit in a chair.
God put this problem as you call it inside of each one of us including you. He engraved it on our hearts. God says we have no excuse not to believe in Him. Even you know this!

I believe that religion was invented to control the masses. I don't understand how a good God could allow so much suffering in the world.
