You don't use carbon paper for REAL tattoos at all....

The paper used is actually a special thermal paper that can only be used with a thermal copying machine....which basically xeroxes your drawing onto the contact sheet which is used as your "stencil".....

Either way if you can't draw don't tattoo. If you have a tattoo gun and wanna practice do it on oranges or pork shoulders...i think there;s too many people walkin around with poorly done ink jobs

It's not carbon paper - tattoo artists - YES, REAL tattoo artists to that one respondent - use different papers depending on their needs to make the stencils. Not all of us use thermal paper, many of us use spirit paper with a dot matrix printer, for instance. These papers are sold by professional tattoo supply companies to professional artists.
Don't worry - when you choose a professional, he/she will have the appropriate equipment.

Carbon paper is for wussies. Its like the tattoo version of tracing paper. You have to be a "real" tattoo artist in order to open a shop. Not a tracer.
