Hi Brynn - My father was a Pagan, hence I was raised this way, but when I was 8 yrs. old and curios about 'religion' he suggested I spend two years heavily involved in churchs of all denominationsm bible studies, camps, etc..that I might make my own opinion. I did. It was those years that insured Paganism was for me. Thanks for your Question.

J.R. - Perhaps in the most ancient of days, during Beltane ('May Day'), some may have choosen to do so and in the more secret Pagan gatherings of today this might be practiced. It is not common though. There is a special rite used specifically for the following.
This idea about 'free sex' and orgies among Pagans I believe comes from the old understanding that -how shall I put this? - 'one enters the state of heaven through sex'. Vaguely put and needs more explaning to clarify but that's the jist.
Perhaps this is why I am a Pagan!!!!! LOL

Minimule67 -Hi. Because our ceremonies and rituals produce results. We communicate directly with Goddess/God and recieve answers and guidance. When the guidance always proves to be correct its most difficult not to believe.

Hi Shpicey - Lovely question. Its not so much we are elevated, for both gender are equaly respected. If you look at the 'nurturing' aspect of earth - her pattern of creating, sustaining and preserving life, and our own human nature, you will see these are natural qualities of the female. There is, shall we say, a 'power' behind all this and to work with that power is a sacred gift to us all. Males included. For the females natural abilities is why we are respected Most difficult to explain in a mere few sentences but maybe this will help you understand a bit further.

Hi Wolf -There is only one Goddess principle but every culture has their own name for it. These supposed 'false Gods' we worship are merely ways of honoring all aspects of the one Goddess. A way to keep our minds and hearts on her daily. Does this help?

Would be nice to have other Pagans answer these questions too for we all have our own personal perspectives.

For All of You - Remember 'Pagan' is a very broad term so I am not speaking for all of them. For the whole of us vary in our ways.
