No i wouldnt say dense i would just say they know deep down what the answer is but they just want a second opinion to confirm what they thought was true.

It is natural for people to want to be compliemented. Even you at times, I am sure you have wanted a person to take notice of anything you have achieved or done that you feel deserves a compliment.
There is nothing wrong with a person wanted to be praised.
Maybe not everybody gets them, it is nice when someone compliments us once in a while.
