You might need to get an E-Collar, your vet can give you one (usually for a fee) or I think you can buy them at stores like Petsmart or Petco but Im not sure about that.

Here is what worked for me when my Chi/Rat Terrier ripped a big hole in his chest. I would use a gauze bandage to cover the wound. Then I wrapped an Ace bandage around him. Then I would spray it with "Sour Apple", he hated being sprayed but the taste kept him from the bandage.

There is a special "collar" that you can put on the dog, but I don't know what it is called, I'm sure a pet store could help you with that. It is somewhat cone shaped but prevents the dog from being able to turn his head far enough to lick, bite, etc. himself. The thing pretty much covers nose to neck.

Ha! Good luck with that! Outside of putting a satellite collar on him I doubt you can prevent it. Oh sure you can try hot sauce and crap, maybe bitter apple spray might help for a bit, but if he rips it off once, he will get past the bad taste just to do it again.
You can see one of my guys who also hates to be bandaged on mastiffs360.com.

Buy your pup a medical collar, at a pet supply store, and it will prevent him from biting at the bandages.

well, there is...but it's up to you to use it or not...
you could since it's for their own good...
apply some 'wasabi' on the bandage...they will understand biting bandages isn't a good thing to do and stop doing it.

you need to put a cone around his neck so he can't chew off the bandage. You can get one from a veterinarian or make your own. look online to see what one looks like but you must be carefull that it does not hurt the puppys neck.
