The Bible is the word of God.
Jesus is the Word of God.
It's like this:
In ancient times the people living in Greece were separated. They had no homogeneous national identity. So if someone wanted to generalize about those living in that part of the world, they would refer to greeks, or by their national identity; the Macedonians, the Spartans, the Athenians, etc. But to now refer to those that now live there, they are Greeks, with a capital letter.
As with God's word, the Bible. It is a source from which we learn about God, but the Word of God has an identity as a 'proper noun':
proper noun
–noun
Grammar. a noun that is not normally preceded by an article or other limiting modifier, as any or some, and that is arbitrarily used to denote a particular person, place, or thing without regard to any descriptive meaning the word or phrase may have, as Lincoln, Beth, Pittsburgh.
Jesus is the Word of God. It's an office, a station, a revelation of his nature.

The word of Jesus is the word of God, the Old Testament was revealed by the person of the Father, the New Testament by the person of the Son.
It would not be correct for John's Gospel start with "In the beginning was the Bible..." because the Bible didn't exist until the events it records were revealed to mankind.

Yes, both the Bible and Jesus are the word of God. But John's Gospel is referring to Jesus.

Well, being that the Bible wasn't completed until 70 years after that verse I'd say no.
Jesus is the living Word of God.He was the voice in the burning bush(John 8:58) He walked and talked with Adam and Enoch and sat and ate with Abraham under the terebinth trees. He wrestled with Jacob at Peniel. He talked to Gideon,Joshua, and Samson's parents. He was the Old Testament,"Angel of the Lord" .That was the pre-incarnate Christ, always teaching and guiding His people. He is God ,the 2nd person of the Trinity, not an angel as some denominations have Him,but The representation of God to man.He was with God and He was God.He was in the beginning with God (Collosians 1,John 1 Hebrews 1) and all things were created by and through Him with the Father. He is was and will be the Word of God.

The Word of God, is the Word of God the Father who art in heaven, Jesus was the first to bring us the true Words of God as spoken by God the Father.
Many have tried to bring us God the Father's true Words, but Satan would pretend to be God and mix lies with truth, and give us his words.
The Word of God, is part of every person born of God. (born in His image). We come into the world as spirits, and the body is a house for the spirit. The spirit is our life, the body is nothing more than a house, for our spirit.
Jesus said "I am the first and the last", the Word of God was cast down to the earth and became flesh, and dwelt among us. Jesus is that Word in the flesh, but it is the Words His Father told Him to speak, they are not His own Words, they are the Words of God the Father who art in heaven.

No. Not at all. I don't have time to explain all about the Greek term "logos" borrowed from Socrates, Aristotle, Plato - but it means so much more than just the word "word".
