And if so, what's you're day like. What kind of things do you encounter on a day-to-day basis.

For example, what types of requests can you get from your subordinates.

By requests, I mean issues that come up with the subordinates.

it isn't the COs job to deal with the day to day operations. that is the XOs Job. the CO sets policy.

as for requests from subordinates.. he wouldn't get them. all enlisted requests ...like for Leave and such... are funneled through the Chain of Command, usually no higher than the Dept Head. any similar O requests would stop at the XO.

The only time an Enlisted person is in front of the Old Man is for a Court Martial.. and you really DON'T want that to happen. Article 15s are held at the XO or Dept Head level.

Oh he might hand out a Barvo Zulu or administer a re enlistment Oath occasionally, but that's about it.

a CO doesnt get request, he delegates orders!

He gets orders from his higher, and delegates those down his own chain of command.

Its really a very tiring administrative position. Tons of paperwork.

If requests "incidents" come up, its the men below him that would take it upon themselves to bring a resolve to whatever concerns they have.

A captain wouldn't really hear requests from the enlisted as it would be the first seargent who would deal with just about everything, unless it was UCMJ stuff.
(just an example)
The LT's of his unit wouldnt make request but would stand by for orders.

You make it seem like things filter upwards, when in actuaity things in the army filter downwards.
