If you are slightly short-sighted, then only wearing them for distance vison when you have to is fine.
(I can think of only rare exceptions to that, where the binocular vision is unusual)
Most authorities will say closework without myopic correction on is marginally better for you, *provided* you don't have to start changing your posture to get close to the print.
Keep the longest working distance that works, and glance up and away from your close work regularly.
Having said that, 80% of people your age with some myopia are going to keep going somewhat more myopic till they stop growing: 18-22 years of age.
It's a growth thing. You were born long-sighted, and have been moving short-sighted ever since
(the average person, born about +3.50, ends up +0.50)
So you can't with confidence say that wearing your glasses makes things worse. There's every chance it was going to happen anyway.
Laser treatment isn't a good option before about age 22-25. You'll want the eyes to have stabilized before re-setting them.
There are options with contact lenses designed to re-shape the corneas the way braces from othodontists are intended to straighten teeth, but the effect is not usually held out to be permanent.
I'm not keen, but you'd have to investigate the possibility for yourself: research "orthokeratology"
Sorry a simple positive answer doesn't quite meet the circumstances.

Well because you're in school, I'm assuming your in High School and as such you're under 21. This means lasik isn't an option yet until your eyes stop growing.
It's probably unlikely you'll get an expert's opinion here as not many opthalmologists view this site, but I'm a final year student doctor. Saying that however means I am NOT an expert.
I too wear glasses to see screens and surgeries but wearing glasses wont degrade your vision. It'll gradually deteoriate to a certain level any way as your eyes grow. It;s the shape of your eye and the ability of the lens of your eye to focus the image on your retina which is the problem.
You should wear your glasses in class to help you to learn. You can always have lasik when you're older. It's better to get good grades at the moment.:-)

Look into Lasik Eye Surgery. I had it 5 years ago, and it was one of the best things I've ever done. I see 20/15 now and never have to worry about glasses or contacts again.
Most Lasik doctors will finance the surgery too (and a few of the "best" insurance plans will even cover most or all of the cost).
One other piece of advice - if you do try to get Lasik, make sure it's a respected doctor. I know about 20 people who have had Lasik. All but one used the same doctor I did (one of the top 10 Lasik specialists in California) and we all had painless surgeries that lasted less than 15 minutes with recovery times under a day and no complications. The one person who tried to save a few bucks with a cheaper doctor had a lot of complications and took almost 2 weeks to heal properly.

Well, I am not an expert but I wear glasses. And what I do is I wear glasses only at night and I wear contacts during the day. They are the same as glasses exept you can see all around the corners of your eye and after maybe one minute after putting them in you dont even realize they are in your eye. And your eyes will not get better by not wearing your glasses. If they are bad they are bad for life unless you get surgery which I say crazy because I would rather stick with glasses/contacts. Hope this helped.

You are incorrect in thinking that wearing glasses will make your vision worse. It won't. If you don't like glasses you can try contacts.
LASIK surgery is the only option to seeing well without glasses or contacts but you can't get LASIK until you are 21.

I am about to be 20, and i have had glasses considering that I used to be more often than not round 11-12 years old. I tried contacts and they have been lovely, on account that once I went to the lake I could see once I was out on the water swimming, above water. Rather than that, it is tru, when I would seem within the replicate, I didn't see myself. My glasses designs have continually been dark brown and squary, so when I take them off, my face looks nakey. Haha. Plus with contacts, I used to be sooo lazy at taking them off daily. I'd forget on purpose when you consider that it used to be so difficult to take them out and put them in. My eyes obtained all squinty. I lasted best a year with contacts...Im now back to my old normal glassses. I don't believe I might do the surgical procedure. At the least not now. I am too scared to head blind. Probably one day. I am extra probably to return to contacts...They're in order that high-priced, that right now I cannot.

Wearing the right corrective lenses will not mess up your vision. If you wear glasses sometimes in school, it will help you to see better, and it won't ruin your vision. Talk to an eye doctor if you are concerned.

im not an expert, the likely hood of an expert coming on this question is low.
you need to wear your glasses all the time! because if you dont, your eyes will get much worse., and cost your parents loads of money. wear your glasses, im sure they look cute and the girls will love you for being unique. once your eyes go "bad" you cannot correct them without surgery. please wear your glasses.
EDIT: if you are still a minor, the lasik doctors will not give you eye surgery, because you are too young and wont understand, and as your eyes naturally get worse, you would need to go in and get another surgery. its very invasive, and you need to wear weird, and very silly goggles for 1-2 months while your eyes heal, plus, you cannot get them wet, and you have to put a special liquid in your eyes because they wont re moisten themselves.

Just wear them they look good! I wear mine all the time! If you hate it that much then get contacts but lasik is very dangerous in that the side-effects are a pain to deal with.
