Vomiting indicates there is certainly something amiss with your pet. It could be something simple but if not, once a bird shows signs it is ill there is only a short time before it becomes a life or death situation. Birds hide there illness very well and usually by the time it looks physically sick it is often too late to do anything. I would suggest a vet visit is necessary and if all turns out well and there is no problems at least you have done the right thing. There is no reversing the situation once your bird has died.
Get as much info from your mum as possible about what the bird was doing when it vomited and where it had been. Find out if it had been chewing anything different. Make a note of its poops and any changes there has been to the colour or consistency. Have you added new toys to its cage or used any sprays or cleaners the bird may have been in contact with. Take all this info to the vet with your bird and it will help the vet make a more informed diagnosis. Vets can only go on the information they receive so the more you can give the better the chances of him being able to help your bird.

Fluffing up is a strong sign of sickness. Birds in the wild hide their sickness so predaters dont try and pin point them. This happens in captive cockatiels as an natural instinct. So chances are your cockatiel could have been sick for a while now. If he is fluffing up and wheezing take him to the animal hospital right away. He could have respitory problems or worse. Also if your cockatiel is between the ages of 5-20 it could be dying of old age. You see an all seed diet is a slow killer for ALL birds. A cockatiel can live up to 20 years but an all seed diet gives it between 5-10 years. So if you feed it seeds, that could be the issue. if not, like i said take it to the hospital now. With bids every second counts. Hope he turns out fine =)
