It is accurate. God is NOT a religion.

Religion is one's individual path to God.

A bit more info would be nice, but I agree

religion is the practises that people go through in churches, I believe in a more personal relationship with God that I do NOT call a religion, and I believe that religion needs to die...there's a song called "fields of grace" by Big Daddy Weave I think, that talks a bit about that....

I agree. God is not a religion and He is not in any religion. He is in everyone's heart, despite the religion.

Religion is just the tool we choose to communicate with Him. If someone attends the service in a church, study the Bible, receive communion, light candles, whatever, but doesn't follow the Divine's Laws, God is not within this person. God is in a good attitude and action, not in empty words and ideas. God is nothing without work. God makes no sense without results, and religion is useless without following God.

Peace!

There is a good thought in that quote. God is not just a religion, We need to cultivate a relationship with God, and through Bible believing religion the cultivation process is helped. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth and the life no man cometh unto the Father but by Me. With out God, we are lost.

God did not come to this eath to start a religion. He came to seek and save that which was lost. Which is the relationship that He had with His us. We can have that same relationship by repenting, being baptized by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ and receiving the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in an unknown language. Then we will be able to be taught by our loving Creator and He will be able to work through us. What a remarkable difference he made in my life. There is great joy in serving our Lord and Savior.

God is not a religion. Your religion is the way you seek God, there is many different ways. Everyone believes in something different

It forms meaningless word salad. The word 'god' is completely undefined, and the "is of identity" (noun x _is_ noun y) promotes the fallacy that there exists some entity outside of reality that completely defines whatever is being described. And there are very few definitions of religion that encompass all the religions without including many secular organizations.

I'll get voted down because this is an extremely subtle and complex point, often misunderstood.

That's true - G-d is faith, not religion. Religion is man made traditions in an effort to get people closer to G-d.

G-d was before all religion, above religion and will be around long after religion ceases.

I must disagree with marys oblate Religion is a mass marketed criteria for following a mutually agreed upon god.
