Don't you think it odd that Christians often accuse atheists and agnostics of 'worshipping man', or being egocentric?
In truth, Christianity is built around a myth of a giant human-like ego in the sky who conducts all affairs around humans, who makes all life for humans, and who makes humans in 'his' likeness.
Is this not an enormously egocentric view of the cosmos?
I personally have no belief in a patriarchal desert God such as Allah or the Chrsitian daddy-in-the sky 'God'.
Neither do I have an image of humankind as some kind of superbeing ordained by a creator.
We are surely part of a picture that paints itself and one day we will be painted out. I do not believe things were 'made' just for us, that seems like pure, childish, plain arrogance and egocentricity.
Why again, would Christians accuse atheists of 'worshipping man'?
Christians...to the mirror room for you...

A man named Damien Youth has made some interesting interpretations on the subject of Christianity.
"...the whole book (the Bible) was written by people who thought the World was flat...what does that say? If they're talking to the creator of the Universe it seems like, you know, they would've known better than that, that they could've cleared that right up from the start. Then it occurred to me that it has nothing to do with logic or reason, it's like an emotional thing and it feeds people's emotions and feeds their feeling of hope when they think that they're gonna' be immortal...so ultimately the whole draw into Christianity is ego-based because it's like not being able to let go of your self. You want to feel like you're gonna' continue on and it's like ultimately survival instinct. When I was in my kitchen the other night I turned on the light and all these cockroaches ran under the kitchen cabinets to preserve themselves because they felt they were in danger of losing their lives and I was thinking, you know, we're no different, we're just more psychological creatures, so we need something mental or something emotional to run to when the light of realization that we're all going to die switches on. We need a kitchen cabinet to run and hide under and God is our kitchen cabinet".

Christianity only at present adapted to that civil version, after finding itself delicate in usa. it is historical past hasn't consistently consisted of sharing outfits or battling inhuman or superstitious tribal behaviors. they're advancements, yet infrequently effective while the 'humane' approach demands conversion as properly. they're extra human, regardless of if no person needed 'Jesus' to be human. the different tribes are only rebelling foreign places customs, or, taboo's. you may combat against something that looks immoral or 'inhuman' against your very own cultural or tribal instinct. The justification is predicated on the previous and time-venerated historical past of Christianity, no longer the cutting-side-day apologetic's and conversion techniques. The dark an prolonged time did no solid by way of Church. faith did no longer help human beings get better or proceed to exist.

There is a big difference here.
Regardless of how Christians view the role of humans in this world they still place G-d in the center.
'Worshipping man' means to hold man as G-d, to make him the main creature, the main power in life instead of G-d.
G-d doesn't conduct all his affairs around humans. Sorry to disappoint you on that one. Nothing says that G-d's attention is on humans only. In fact in Genesis he says that animals will have to give an accounting to him and the Noahide covenant is between himself, Noah and all living creatures. G-d also talks about hearing the cries of baby birds when they are hungry - they cry out to him and that he mourns the loss of every animal.
Hardly sounds like a G-d who is merely concerned with humans alone.

Sorry. You are absolutely wrong. Christianity, like Judaism and Islam is based on the belief in one true God who is creator of the universe. We worship this being because he is the supreme creator and also loves us as his creation.

Not to mention the whole thing about their God being "the one true God", and about only people who believe as they do, and act as their beliefs dictate getting into Heaven. (Oftentimes, themselves, presuming that they are guaranteed salvation for their "faith"). Egotistic to its very roots, I'm afraid.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. God chose us in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight, in love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and His will.
God's love for us is that He set it up that we might be adopted as His children through Jesus Christ in accordance with His pleasure.
This isn't some after thought. His pleasure is to look upon us as His children. It's both His pleasure and His will.
I know who I am. Who are you?

Christianity is NOT all about humans. We make many sacrifices, some of us even our lives. We do many things that if we worshipped ourselves we would not do. If we worshipped ourselves we would be having intercourse in the street like the rest of the world, and acting like stupid selfish people and many many other things. We all have desires, but we do not bow to them, if it were all about us, we WOULD.
Our purpose in life is to bring glory to God, how does that worship humans?
