as for as the bible is from God ,it fit science in a credible way .And here is the scientific truths from the bible :
Just as it is harmful to drink wine alone or water alone, whereas mixing wine with water makes a more pleasant drink that increases delight, so a skillfully composed story delights the ears of those who read the work. Let this, then, be the end. (Mac2-15-39)
i have never heard that water alone is harmful (could you help)
"The various winged insects that walk on all fours are loathsome for you. [ Lv:11:20 ] (what is that ??????????? could you help)

There are lot of contradictions in the Bible. I am just going to quote and describe only 5 of them.
1) According to the Bible, Book of Genesis
Chapter 1, verses 11-13,
Vegetation was created on the third day along with seed-bearing grasses, plants and trees; and further on as per verses 14-19, the sun was created on the fourth day. How is it scientifically possible for the vegetation to have appeared without the presence of the sun, as it has been stated in the Bible?
It also says light is created on the first day where as the source of light 'The Sun' is created on the fourth day. How is this scientifically possible?
2)According to Bible Fowl has four legs.
Lev 11:20-21: "All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you." Fowl do not go upon all four. There has not been any fossils of winged creatures found that has four legs. Insects do not have four feet either. So therefore, it is not very accurate in describing Zoology.
3 )"You shall not murder."
--Exodus 20:13
"Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man."
--Numbers 31:17-18
4)According to Bible King James Version Job 26:11 it says the heaven is placed on pillars. It says
"The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof"
This may be a metaphor but does not seem very scientific.
5) Mathematical problem in the Bible: 1Chronciles 25:3 Of Jeduthun: "The sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD."
When you count them there are five names, not six. Couldn't God find a chronicler who could count?
There are also plenty numerical contradiction that I don't want to mention. If you can prove the verses above are true then I will believe in the Bible.

I was checking your science4islam web page. Those scientific miracles of the quraan are rather specious don't you think? I particularly like the one about some "agent" sending a throne to some other kingdom in less than a second as proving that Islam knew about the realtionship between matter and energy a la Einstein before modern scientists. That's a stretch no?
My question to you is, have you ever been exposed to real science or technology before or do you get all your first hand knowledge about anything from one set of books that were choosen for you?

Hello Anno,
Yes, the bible came from God. It is TRUE, Inspired, Living and foudational. If it weren't, do you think that so many early Christians would have died for the faith? Prior to the written word our early Christian brothers and sisters carried on with the oral tradition of memorizing what we now have as the complete bible. 73 wonderful books! The problem I think you are having is that you are trying to read the bible literally. That really can cause confusion. There is much of the bible that can be quite easily read and understood, but there is also much that is easy to misunderstand because it is taken out of context. Try this. Pick you favorite gospel and then order a copy of the Navarre bible (for that gospel). You can find it on Amazon. It will give you a wonderful commentary with the readings to help put it in context.
I hope this helps! God Bless!

Sister, there is no doubt that proven theories and laws in science are in harmony with Islam, they have to be. As God says in the Qur'an:
(2:164)
Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the alternation of the night and the day; in the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; in the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; in the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; in the change of the winds, and the clouds which they Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise.
As for the Bible, I'm sure at one point it was accurate. You wonder though, how much of it today is original and how much is private interpretation and input from those who had the "apparent authority" to modify it.
Remember that Islam would not exist if Christianity still retained it's original message from God. There is a very good reason the Qur'an has been revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and it's very well explained in the Qur'an.

You left out YHWH's discourse with Job. (science) however Biblical miracles are above & beyond science. Like creation itself, like Elisha causing the axe head to float to the waters surface, after it sank and was lost, the way Jesus healed the blind man, or raised Lazerus. How about when YHWH made the sun stand still. Or the time HE caused the sun to go backwards? that kind of approach is weak! It's over your head....and mine. Now concerning LV 11 :20, Go back, read the whole chapter, slowly, and you might understand. But you drifted away from the question of science. NOW I got a better idea. There was a 'free Quran.org. I wan't one to study and learn Islam from IT who of you muslims can help me? Whereas I will make up my own mind, based on what is written.NKJV

the bible doesnt talk about exact events. some of the events did happen but most are stories meant to teach to be kind and to be good. God didnt write the bible but rather inspired it.
back in those days the water was nasty. people drank it, took baths in it and dumped sewage in it. but wine was made from grapes so it hadnt been subjected to that and at the same time wine isnt good for you. its kind of a pick your poisen
when it talks about four legged insects it means the person despisies animals just as most people despiese bugs.
when it says he sowed the land with salt it means he crushed everything in the city till nothing was left and they were in the desert and sand is mostly salt.
i hope i answered most of your questions

Wow, I have a pretty good answer for you actually..my answer is from a similar question that was proposed, so some of it might not make sense:
OMG..don't you all see that having so many different versions of the Bible indicates a corrupt religion? Many authors, editors, revisers, etc. of the Bible only changed/deleted/added verses to appeal to Christians so they would remain faithful (in other words through lies) and to appeal to people who are interested in converting (the same way). Converting through lies and putting in what people WANT to hear is corrupt. For all we know, the all-loving peaceful Bible could have had some ugly verses that were deleted or replaced with more peaceful ones so that Christianity could not look like a culprit or evil religion in the future. CORRUPTION! For all sixty-six or so versions of the bible, money is an inevitable thing to be easily made--and with so many different bibles, it is hard to know which one to go by and which different “interpretation” to follow.
An imperfect, flawed religion indicates that it is disqualified as being the true religion.
When you said, "I think people are seeing the question they want to asnwer, not asnwering what has been asked..."
Well, that’s kind of like the Christians changing the Bible into what they want their religion to be like (aka allowing more freedoms, making bad deeds seem less impactful, etc.), not seeking the truth or caring about what is really meant for them.
The Bible was once beautiful, but it was changed and adulterated, and therefore lost all its beauty to the greedy “converters” who wanted to win converts or strengthen weak followers by releasing new editions and versions of the Bible that sounded appealing or adhered to the potential convert’s or weak follower’s likes, and get as many converts by any means--even if it means lying or taking advantage of the situation and circumstances.
PS -- The various winged insects thing means that they are not to be eaten. Pigs, hares (rabbits), and ostriches are also forbidden to be eaten or touched in the Bible. Yet you can tell that people loved their pork so much, and the authors didn't want to lose followers and didn't want Christianity to sounds too restrictive so they could win converts nad the authors loved pork themselves also, so a story was made up about someone having a dream, and all of a sudden, the unclean animals were all clean to eat. In Islam, Allah (God) is perfect, and therefore has no need to change his mind. Changing one's mind is a sign of fallability, so Christianity truly was corrupted.

Not surprising since Mohammad was trained in the Roman Catholic beliefs and was familiar that he would borrow many things from the Bible in order to support his religion, he borrowe the Bedouin moon god allah who he elevated to the supreme God. So his borrowing from other religions is not surprising. Islam is a religion that is based on borrowed beliefs of other systems. I am sorry to say tha Mohammad was not a true man of god but was a man after Hitlers own heart.

if it's not from God then how did the Old Testament have such a profound and accurate understanding of Jesus and the New Testament? Before the year 30AD, nobody understood the significance of things like psalm 33, or God telling abraham that through the nation of israel. or the prophesies in isaiah about what jesus would be like. or even in genesis 3:15 the serpant will have emnity with eves "seed" (singular) and her "seed" will crush it's head. all of it makes so much sense and is so perfect--if it's not from God it's frome something weird and amazing, cause so many of the prophesies are so clear and so totally true.
