I had to do a compaq system restore on my PC and it wiped out all my e-mail I had saved. Using a search and recover program - how do I get it back? Is there a file extension for e-mail?

Try clicking on Files Import. Click on Messages. This should prompt Outlook to look for existing messages on your computer. If it doesn't find any then they are gone for good.
