Being a former chef I love lentils both the green, brown and my favorite the small red ones.

The high in fiber, iron and minerals, and like chickpeas they do not raise glucide levels in the blood.

I eat alot of Indian food and am a big fan of the lentil soup you speak of, any way is fine for me with lentils. It is something that not only aid in weight loss but not make you filled up, I tried the cabbage soup diet one time, with a balanced diet and the soup as a meal it will aid you with your effforts.

Yes, lentils are healthy. Low fat, high in fiber and protein.

Overeating any one thing is NOT healthy. Just incorporate the soup as part of your varied diet.
